- Arcane Flourish
When When he begins casting a spell
Rhapsody flourishes his fingers like a conductor, then snaps a spell into being with theatrical precision.
- SpellcastingLevel 1
You can cast wizard spells using a spellbook, prepare a number of spells equal to your Intelligence modifier plus your wizard level, and use an arcane focus or component pouch for your spells. You know three wizard cantrips and have a spellbook containing six 1st-level wizard spells.
- Arcane RecoveryLevel 1
After a short rest, you can recover expended spell slots with a combined level equal to half your wizard level, rounded up. At 4th level, you can recover up to 2 levels of spell slots.
- Divination SavantLevel 2
You specialize in the school of Divination. The gold and time you spend copying divination spells into your spellbook is halved.
- PortentLevel 2
You can read possible futures in a pair of portent rolls made each long rest. You can replace two attack rolls, saving throws, or ability checks with those rolls before the roll is made.

Appearance
A lean young human with restless eyes, dark hair that never quite stays combed, and ink smudges on his fingers from constant note-taking. He dresses like a traveling performer who borrowed a scholar's coat, with a few embroidered patches, a practical satchel, and a worn lute strap crossing his back beside his spellbook.
Mannerisms
He talks with his hands when excited, absentmindedly taps rhythms on whatever surface is nearby, and quotes his father in a dramatic stage whisper when he thinks no one is listening. Before casting, he often closes one eye as if sighting a distant star.
Personality
Curious, earnest, and a little overwhelmed by the size of the world, Rhapsody approaches people the way he approaches spellbooks, with patient attention and a determination to understand. He wants to help, but he also wants to know why things are the way they are, and he is happiest when he can turn confusion into clarity.
Ideals
Discovery. Knowledge is not a trophy to be hoarded, but a lantern that can guide people through fear, ignorance, and loss.
Bonds
He carries his father's battered lute and his mother's seed pouch, treating both like sacred relics. He is determined to prove that a boy raised by song and soil can still become a true archmage without betraying either of his parents' legacies.
Flaws
He doubts himself at the worst possible moments and can become so focused on learning the next answer that he misses the feelings of the people standing right in front of him. When criticized, he hides behind wit and academic language instead of admitting he is hurt.
Quirks
Background
Rhapsody Reed was born on the road between applause and thunder. His father was a bard who could turn a muddy village square into a concert hall with nothing but a grin and a stringed instrument, while his mother was a druid who read weather in the bend of grass and spoke to the old places as if they were kin. He grew up with music on one side and wild magic on the other, surrounded by people who seemed to know exactly who they were. Rhapsody, however, never did. He loved the certainty of formulas, the elegance of sigils, the way a spell could be understood, measured, and mastered. So when the time came to choose his path, he chose wizardry, not because it was expected, but because it was his own.
“He grew up with music on one side and wild magic on the other, surrounded by people who seemed to know exactly who they were.”
