Appearance
A slender aasimar with warm bronze skin, silver-white hair braided with bits of bone and blue thread, and luminous amber eyes. A faint halo-like radiance appears around the irises when strong emotions rise. She wears weathered scale mail beneath a moss-green cloak, carries a longbow across her back, and keeps a pair of shortswords at her hips. Her celestial heritage is subtle but unmistakable, lending her an otherworldly calm even when covered in trail dust.
Mannerisms
Seraphine pauses before entering any new place, quietly counting exits and listening for birds. She cleans her blades with deliberate care after every fight and speaks to animals as though they are fellow travelers.
Personality
Quietly compassionate and observant, Seraphine prefers to listen before speaking. She is patient with frightened people and wary of boastful ones. Though she appears solemn, she has a dry sense of humor and a surprising fondness for terrible campfire songs.
Ideals
Mercy. Power is meaningful only when it is used to protect those who have none.
Bonds
I carry a charred wooden token from my destroyed home, and I will protect isolated settlements from suffering the same fate.
Flaws
I distrust organized religion and assume that anyone claiming divine authority is hiding an agenda. When frightened, I become controlling and would rather risk myself than admit I need help.
Quirks
Background
Seraphine Vale was born beneath a meteor shower in a remote woodland settlement, where her aasimar heritage was regarded with equal parts reverence and suspicion. Her mother, a trapper and herbalist, taught her to read animal tracks, follow hidden streams, and sleep lightly beneath the open sky. Her celestial blood first revealed itself when she was a child, healing a wounded fox with a touch that left her palms glowing like candlelight. The village elders called it a blessing, but Seraphine saw only the frightened animal and learned early that divine gifts mattered less than what one chose to do with them. When raiders burned the settlement, Seraphine survived by guiding a handful of children through the forest to safety. She spent the following years traveling from frontier to frontier, serving as a scout, guide, and hunter for those who could not protect themselves. Her dreams are occasionally visited by a distant celestial voice that urges her toward danger, though it never explains why. Now she follows rumors of a corrupted shrine deep in the wilderness, believing that whatever is poisoning the land may be connected to the fire that destroyed her home. She seeks neither glory nor worship, only the chance to ensure that no other helpless community is abandoned to the dark.
