Appearance
A striking, powerfully built female hobgoblin with russet-red skin, sharp ears, golden-brown eyes, and a confident, attractive face. Her lean abdomen and entire frame are impossibly defined, with dense, bulging muscle built through decades of disciplined combat training. She wears close-fitting black studded leather armor, reinforced gloves, dark trousers, and twin curved blades at her hips. Her movements are economical and predatory, revealing the precision of a veteran champion rather than the wildness commonly associated with orcish warriors.
Mannerisms
Kavra constantly checks the balance of a blade with her thumb, even while speaking. She stands perfectly still when listening, then moves with startling speed when she makes a decision. She refuses to sit with her back to a door and addresses officers by their first names, whether invited to or not.
Personality
Kavra is disciplined, observant, and intensely self-possessed. She speaks in a low, measured voice and rarely wastes words, but she has a dry sense of humor that appears at the most inappropriate moments. She is protective toward outcasts, suspicious of authority, and quietly fascinated by people who can be kind without expecting obedience in return.
Ideals
No banner is worth a civilian's life. Strength exists to protect those who cannot command it themselves.
Bonds
The survivors of the abandoned district are her chosen family. She sends them coin, weapons, and letters whenever she can, and she will cross a continent to defend them.
Flaws
She distrusts institutions so completely that she may sabotage a good plan simply because an officer approved it. She also hides pain behind arrogance, and when someone discovers the truth about her heritage, she becomes defensive, reckless, and eager to prove that she needs no one's acceptance.
Quirks
Background
Kavra Vey was raised among hobgoblin warbands that valued obedience above identity. Her commanders called her an orc because it was easier to understand a weapon than a person, and the lie followed her through every campaign. She learned early that survival belonged not to the strongest soldier, but to the one who could read a battlefield faster than anyone else. By adulthood, Kavra had become a duelist of terrifying precision, fighting with paired blades and turning every opening into a decisive wound. During a disastrous siege, Kavra discovered that the army she served had deliberately abandoned an entire civilian district to preserve its supply lines. She broke formation, rescued the survivors, and was marked for execution. In the ruins beneath the city, she encountered a mysterious presence from the Feywild that offered her power in exchange for a promise to never again serve a cause that demanded the helpless be sacrificed. Kavra accepted, taking the first steps toward her warlock pact while continuing to perfect her martial discipline. Now an eighteenth-level Champion and second-level warlock, she travels as a mercenary guardian, concealing her true hobgoblin heritage beneath the convenient label of orc. She no longer fights to prove what she is. She fights to decide who gets to live.
