Appearance
A tall bronze dragonborn woman with polished sea-green and copper scales, bright amber eyes, and a crest of dark teal spines braided with bits of twine, leaves, and tiny bone charms. She favors practical leather armor over her robes, carries a crooked quarterstaff wrapped in vine fiber, and keeps her calligrapher's kit and spellbook carefully tied to her pack. Her expression is almost always calm, even when she is being cuttingly rude, which makes her insults land like a knife under silk.
Mannerisms
She speaks in clean, clipped sentences, and pauses just long enough to make other people wonder if she is about to insult them. When thinking, she traces invisible lines in the air as if diagramming a page. She corrects bad grammar, bad maps, and bad assumptions with equal seriousness.
Personality
Dry, exacting, and unbothered by social expectations, Vhessra treats politeness as a tool rather than a virtue. She is genuinely kind to the injured, the lost, and the innocent, but she has no patience for vanity, cruelty, or incompetence. She listens carefully, speaks sparingly, and when she decides someone is beneath her respect, her sarcasm becomes so calm it feels ceremonial.
Ideals
Knowledge is a living thing, and it must be protected from ignorance, greed, and neglect. Nature deserves guardians who understand it, not conquerors who only want to use it. Truth should be delivered plainly, even when it is uncomfortable.
Bonds
She carries a water-stained history book from her archive mentor, and she swore to return with enough knowledge to restore the old circle-shrine that was abandoned when she left home.
Flaws
She is openly contemptuous of fools, pretenders, and anyone who wastes her time, and her first instinct is to cut them down with words before she ever considers their point of view. Her pride in being right can make her slow to admit mistakes, even when the evidence is obvious. If someone earns her dislike, she can be icy, precise, and mercilessly honest, all while wearing the expression of a very patient teacher.
Quirks
Background
Vhessra Coilquill was raised in the shadow of an old archive where dragonborn scribes preserved maps, treaties, and weather records older than most kingdoms. She was always the one sent to fetch books from the highest shelves, copy marginal notes in a steady hand, and translate obscure symbols no one else could be bothered to learn. She excelled at scholarship, but not at courtesy. If someone was foolish, lazy, or insincere, she would tell them so with a perfectly level tone that left them more embarrassed than if she had shouted. Her druidic calling began when she noticed that the archive's dry, orderly halls were losing something vital. The roof leaked, the garden had gone wild, and the old wards that once honored the land were being treated like decorations instead of living promises. While researching one cracked tablet after another, she learned that the old circles did not merely study nature, they answered to it. That revelation pulled her from the stacks and into the fields. Now she serves the Circle of the Land, treating the wilderness like a text that must be read, copied, and defended. She can be stubborn, cold, and devastatingly blunt, but she has a fierce, practical kindness for the powerless and the overlooked, especially anyone else society has decided to ignore.
