Appearance
Freya is a tall silver haired elf with sharp green eyes, a quick smile, and a habit of dressing like she expects both a gala and a jailbreak in the same night. She favors dark layered travel clothes under a tailored crimson coat, with a silver lute clasp at her hip and a lockpick case hidden in her sleeve. Her ears are pierced with tiny iron rings, trophies from old cons and old victories.
Mannerisms
Freya speaks softly when she is serious and sings under her breath when she is thinking. She taps a rhythm on every locked door before she tries it, as if asking permission. When lying, she looks directly at the person she is deceiving and smiles with complete sincerity.
Personality
Freya is wry, observant, and unexpectedly patient with the frightened or the foolish. She enjoys a clever con, but she dislikes cruelty disguised as law. In conversation she is warm enough to draw people close, then exacting enough to notice what they hide.
Ideals
Freedom through knowledge. No one should be owned by fear, ignorance, or bad laws. The truth is most useful when it can be performed beautifully, because people remember what moves them.
Bonds
Freya still keeps a coded ledger of everyone who ever sheltered her, cheated her, or deserved both mercy and revenge. She sends coin and help to an old thieves' hideout that once fed her when no honest door would open. She is quietly determined to expose the magistrate who burned that refuge to protect his own crimes.
Flaws
Freya trusts plans more than people, and that makes her slow to ask for help until it is nearly too late. She cannot resist proving she can outthink a lock, a liar, or an authority figure, even when the smarter choice is to walk away. When cornered, she can become coldly practical in ways that unsettle her allies.
Quirks
Background
Freya was born under a moonlit canopy in an elven enclave that prized patience, memory, and elegance. She learned early that she disliked none of those things, but she loved movement, noise, and the look on a noble’s face when the rules changed mid-performance. She left before anyone could decide whether she was a disappointment or a prodigy. On the road, she found that songs opened doors, smiles opened pockets, and a well timed lie could do both. What began as survival became craft, then art. She stole ledgers from corrupt merchants, names from crooked magistrates, and secret histories from anyone foolish enough to boast in front of her.
“She left before anyone could decide whether she was a disappointment or a prodigy.”
