Appearance
Vaka is a towering orc woman with deep forest green skin, broad shoulders, and the kind of muscle that looks carved from steel cable. She stands six and a half feet tall, with a jagged scar across her collarbone, an old bullet wound puckered on one bicep, and thick ivory tusks that frame an angular, hard-eyed face. Her hair is black, shaved close at the sides and longer on top, usually falling in a rough, practical sweep. She wears a battered leather jacket over a tight black tank top, heavy canvas pants, and thick-soled combat boots, with a holstered pistol and utility pouches at her hips. Her amber eyes are sharp, amused, and dangerous, like she is always measuring angles, exits, and whether you are worth the trouble.
Mannerisms
Vaka speaks with a dry, cutting wit and a habit of clicking one tusk against the other when she is thinking. She sizes people up with a quick look at their shoulders, hands, and breathing, as if she is reading a body the way other people read a face. When she is irritated, she folds her arms and rolls her neck once, like a fighter settling into a stance. When she respects someone, she gets quieter, not louder.
Personality
Loud, brash, and crude on the surface, Vaka is secretly disciplined, observant, and deeply strategic. She enjoys a good fight, a strong drink, and people who mean what they say. She hates self-pity, cowardice, and bureaucrats who have never been hungry. In the field, she is startlingly protective, especially of medics, strays, and anyone she thinks is one bad day away from becoming a casualty.
Ideals
Glory is not vanity to her, it is proof that fear can be mastered. A life should be lived boldly, skill should be sharpened constantly, and strength should be used to protect those who cannot protect themselves.
Bonds
She keeps a battered notebook of anatomical sketches, battle notes, and the names of people who paid her kindness when she had none to spare. She will cross hell itself for the few street rats and medics who once hid her, fed her, or taught her how to keep someone alive.
Flaws
She can be insufferably direct, especially when she thinks someone is lying to her or wasting time. Vaka trusts competence more than kindness, which means she sometimes dismisses decent people before she gives them a chance. When her blood is up, she becomes reckless, charging into danger because standing still feels too much like weakness. She also hoards secrets, medical, criminal, and personal, because part of her still believes that knowledge is armor and armor is survival.
Quirks
Background
Vaka was born in the forgotten seams of a city that never bothered to learn her name. She grew up among gutters, freight tunnels, and crowded rooms where food, medicine, and safety were all things stolen a mouthful at a time. When the city bruised her, she learned to bruise back. When it lied, she learned to listen for the lie under the lie. Her first lessons in anatomy came from watching street healers, battlefield medics, and a few questionable surgeons, each one teaching her that flesh has rules, weaknesses, and patterns that even magic must obey. She found the gods later, after enough blood had been spilled that the weight of survival no longer felt like enough. Glory did not come to her as pageantry. It came as a vow to stand in the open, to be seen, and to protect others with the same ferocity she once used to protect herself. As a paladin of Glory, she measures worth in courage, discipline, and the willingness to keep moving when fear says stop. The rogue in her never vanished, either. She still knows every alley, every lock, every soft place in a system built to crush the poor. That makes her a strange kind of knight, half holy champion and half trench-born survivor, but Vaka has never been interested in being what people expect.
