Appearance
Vitha is a small goblin woman with sharp, intelligent eyes, broad pointed ears, a narrow face, and skin the color of mossy stone. Her wiry frame is wrapped in patched but meticulously maintained leather armor, darkened with oil and forest dust. A shortbow rests across her back, while a rapier and paired daggers hang at her hips. Her fingers are stained with charcoal, sap, and old lock grease, and a weathered animal tooth is braided into her dark, uneven hair.
Mannerisms
Vitha rarely stands still. She shifts her weight, studies exits, and tests loose objects with one fingertip. When thinking, she taps two claws against her teeth in a slow rhythm. She speaks in a quiet, practical voice and often refers to people by observations rather than names, such as 'red cloak' or 'loud boots.'
Personality
Vitha is observant, dryly funny, and intensely practical. She notices small details before anyone else does, especially signs of danger, dishonesty, or poor preparation. Though she often appears suspicious and aloof, she has a quiet tenderness toward frightened animals, lost travelers, and anyone treated as disposable. She prefers action to speeches and trusts people who consistently do what they say.
Ideals
Freedom. No one should be forced to live under another person's boot, whether they are goblin, human, or anything else. The wild belongs to those who respect it, not those who try to own it.
Bonds
She carries a carved piece of the root beneath which her warren once lived. She will risk almost anything to find the people responsible for destroying her home and to protect goblins, fugitives, and outcasts from suffering the same fate.
Flaws
Vitha assumes every promise conceals a trap, and she sometimes sabotages a plan simply because it seems too straightforward. She is also fiercely reluctant to ask for help, fearing that dependence will make her vulnerable or turn her into someone else's responsibility.
Quirks
Background
Vitha was born among a scattered goblin warren hidden beneath the roots of an ancient forest. Her people survived by moving quietly, reading the weather, and never remaining where larger folk expected them to be. From childhood, Vitha learned that the forest spoke through bent grass, disturbed moss, bird calls, and the absence of insects. She became a keen pathfinder and hunter, but she was never satisfied with simply avoiding danger. She wanted to understand it, study it, and learn how to pass through it unseen. When a band of armed travelers destroyed her warren while searching for a rumored relic, Vitha survived by hiding beneath a deadfall and remaining perfectly still for nearly a day. She later tracked the raiders across the wilderness, stealing supplies, sabotaging their camp, and guiding lost captives to safety. That was the beginning of her life as a scout and a rogue. Vitha now travels between settlements and wild places, taking work that rewards discretion and using her knowledge of the frontier to protect those who would otherwise be overlooked. She still searches for the relic that brought ruin to her home, believing it may reveal who hired the raiders and whether any surviving members of her clan remain.
