Appearance
Thistle stands at a humble three feet with salt and pepper curls peeking from under a velvet indigo cap. His robes are layered and heavy, decorated with silver embroidery that looks like star charts. He often wears a pair of magnifying spectacles that make his inquisitive green eyes look unnaturally large.
Mannerisms
Thistle has a habit of nodding as if agreeing with someone who hasn't finished speaking yet. He moves with a deliberate, slow grace as if he's navigating a floor full of invisible traps.
Personality
Thistle is calm and possesses a strange, rhythmic way of speaking. He often pauses as if listening to an echo from the future. He is deeply focused on the causality of all things, viewing the world as a complex machine that he is privileged to understand.
Ideals
Knowledge. The more we know of what will be, the better we can shape what is. Harmony. The strings of fate must be plucked with care.
Bonds
I carry a charred page from my mentor's lost library, and I will find the rest of the volume. My companions are the focal point of my visions, and I must keep them alive.
Flaws
I am so focused on what might happen that I sometimes forget to enjoy what is actually happening. I trust my visions more than I trust my friends.
Quirks
Background
Born in the quiet foothills, Thistle always found the present moment a bit too crowded. While his family tended to the gardens, he tended to the library of a local eccentric mage. It was there he discovered the 'stepping' technique, a way of moving his consciousness seconds into the future to avoid mistakes before they happened. His expertise earned him a place at the Great Academy where he was titled the Fate Stepper. He realized that predicting the future was not just a parlor trick, but a responsibility to guide his friends away from catastrophe. He travels now to find the original manuscript of the Chronos Web, believing it holds the key to preventing a coming darkness he has glimpsed in his dreams.
