7 featuresAction
- Divine SenseLevel 1
As an action, sense the presence of celestials, fiends, and undead within 60 feet, unless they are behind total cover. You learn the type of any such being whose presence you sense, but not its identity. You can use this feature a number of times equal to 1 + your Charisma modifier, regaining all uses after a long rest. You can also detect desecrated or consecrated places or objects.
- Lay on HandsLevel 1
You have a pool of healing power that replenishes when you finish a long rest. As an action, touch a creature and restore hit points from the pool, up to the remaining amount. The pool contains 5 hit points. You can expend 5 points from it to cure one disease or neutralize one poison affecting the creature; this has no effect on undead or constructs.

Appearance
Dante is a broad-shouldered human with sun-browned, wind-roughened skin and close-cropped dark hair. His chain mail sits neatly beneath a weather-beaten surcoat, and his shield bears the scraped-down insignia of his old regiment. He keeps a small brass token on a cord at his throat, its edge worn smooth where his thumb worries it. He stands very still when listening, as if awaiting an order.
Mannerisms
He checks the fit of his shield strap before entering an unfamiliar place, then takes a moment to note exits and sightlines. He speaks in short, deliberate phrases, and gives a small nod after someone finishes speaking, as if acknowledging a report.
Personality
Dante is composed, direct, and dependable under pressure. He respects competence more than status and offers practical help before consolation. Beneath his controlled manner is a fierce tenderness he rarely shows, because he fears it will become another weakness the enemy can exploit.
Ideals
Order. A dependable code protects people when fear and chaos make good intentions unreliable. But law must serve the innocent, not merely those who hold power.
Bonds
Branwen was taken alive when demons broke through the hamlet's defenses. Dante keeps the brass token she gave him, and will risk nearly anything to learn where she was carried and bring her home.
Flaws
He treats hesitation as a moral failure and can mistake obedience to his own code for justice. When he encounters evil, especially anything demonic, he struggles to distinguish measured judgment from vengeance.
Quirks
Background
Dante learned discipline on the hard roads between garrisons, where a soldier's word mattered because the next patrol might depend on it. His unit was sent to guard a hamlet near Survey Grid 6, an old military map designation still used by the locals. There he met Branwen, a healer who challenged his certainty without mocking his vows. Their quiet life together was built from small routines: mending gear, sharing bread after watch, and arguing over whether mercy could survive a campaign.
