Appearance
Entranzia is a compact, hard-muscled human woman with weathered olive skin, close-cropped dark brown hair, and a narrow scar running from the corner of her left eye to her cheekbone. Her gray eyes rarely settle on anything for long, constantly measuring distances, exits, and the discipline of everyone nearby. She wears a carefully maintained suit of chain mail beneath heavy steel plates protecting her chest and abdomen, a dark leather military coat with a thick fur collar, and a peaked officer's cap bearing the worn brass insignia of her regiment. Her serrated longsword hangs at her left hip, while her modified light crossbow, disguised as a repeating flintlock pistol, rests in a holster at her right.
Mannerisms
Entranzia stands with her hands clasped behind her back whenever she is evaluating a situation. She addresses people by surname unless she considers them family, and she gives every command in the same calm tone, whether ordering breakfast or ordering a charge. When angered, she becomes quieter rather than louder.
Personality
Entranzia is controlled, observant, and relentlessly competent. She prefers clear plans, concise reports, and people who admit uncertainty before it becomes a crisis. Beneath her rigid exterior is a protective instinct she disguises as efficient resource management. She remembers the names of every soldier under her command and quietly repairs damaged equipment belonging to those who cannot afford replacements.
Ideals
Order. A disciplined formation can survive terror, hunger, and impossible odds. Individual freedom is valuable, but it must never be allowed to destroy the structure that protects everyone else.
Bonds
The old soldiers of the Vask trench are her responsibility, especially those who survived because of her decisions. She sends part of every payment to their families and will risk her life to recover the fallen regiment's colors.
Flaws
She confuses hesitation with cowardice and disagreement with betrayal. Once she has publicly issued an order, she finds it almost impossible to reverse without feeling that she has surrendered authority. She also fears that, without rank and uniforms to define her place, there may be nothing underneath except the person who pulled the trigger.
Quirks
Background
Entranzia Graves was raised in a border garrison where every morning began with a bugle and every mistake had a name. Her parents were quartermasters, practical people who taught her that armies survived on inventories, schedules, and the certainty that someone would obey when the order came. She enlisted young, first as a line soldier and later as a field disciplinarian, discovering that she possessed an unnerving talent for restoring cohesion when fear began to spread. She did not shout often. She simply stood where everyone could see her and made the next action impossible to misunderstand. Her promotion to commissar came during the Siege of Vask, when an exhausted trench company refused an order to hold a shattered forward position. Entranzia executed the most vocal deserter before the others could follow, then took the front line herself until reinforcements arrived. The trench held, and her superiors praised the result. Entranzia remembers only the sound of the pistol, the sudden silence afterward, and the way one young soldier stopped meeting her eyes. Since leaving formal service, she has taken work as an adventurer because the wider world appears to be suffering from the same disease as an undisciplined army. She intends to impose structure wherever she finds chaos, though some part of her still wonders whether obedience and courage are truly the same thing.
