Appearance
A lean, long-limbed male tabaxi with tawny-gold fur, dark rosettes, and bright green eyes. His left ear is nicked, his whiskers are carefully trimmed, and a black leather mask usually hangs around his neck. He moves with effortless balance and keeps several throwing knives hidden beneath a weathered burgundy cloak. A silver bell, taken from his first successful burglary, hangs from his belt but never makes a sound.
Mannerisms
Keshik tilts his head sharply when suspicious, flicks his tail when excited, and unconsciously counts exits whenever he enters a room. He speaks in a calm, almost conversational tone while committing crimes, as though discussing the weather.
Personality
Keshik is charming, observant, and irrepressibly curious. He enjoys harmless mischief, collects interesting keys, and treats every locked door as a personal invitation. Beneath his playful confidence is a serious protector who notices hunger, fear, and injustice long before most people do.
Ideals
Freedom. No tyrant, lawmaker, or crime boss has the right to decide who deserves safety and dignity.
Bonds
I will return to my old neighborhood and free the people still trapped under the crime lord's influence.
Flaws
I cannot resist proving that I am the cleverest person in the room, even when keeping quiet would be safer.
Quirks
Background
Keshik Quickstep grew up among the tiled rooftops and crowded markets of a sprawling trade city, where his keen eyes and natural agility made him an exceptional lookout. His mother taught him that a quick paw was useful, but a quicker conscience was better. When a local crime lord began extorting the neighborhood, Keshik joined a band of burglars who stole ledgers, exposed bribes, and redistributed enough coin to keep families fed. He became known as a criminal, but among the poor he was called the Lantern Cat, because he always left a small lamp burning near the homes he had helped. The name drew the attention of the city watch and the crime lord alike. Keshik fled before his crew could be captured, carrying only his knives, his silent bell, and a list of names proving how deeply the corruption reached. Now he travels as a thief-for-hire, choosing targets who deserve to lose what they have and quietly aiding people who have nowhere else to turn. He insists that he is only looking for work, but every job is secretly measured against the same question, whether the stolen wealth can do more good in his hands than it did in the owner's.
