Appearance
A lean wood elf with weathered olive skin, alert hazel eyes, and long dark hair tied back with a strip of green leather. She wears practical scale mail over forest-colored layers, a travel-worn cloak pinned with a carved antler brooch, and carries a longbow marked by dozens of tiny repairs. Her hands are steady, scarred, and always smell faintly of pine resin and rain.
Mannerisms
She pauses before speaking, as if listening to a sound only she can hear. When thinking, she unconsciously traces routes in the air with two fingers. She never sits with her back to an open door, and she always checks the wind before making camp.
Personality
Quietly observant, dryly humorous, and fiercely protective of the vulnerable. She prefers practical solutions, speaks with careful precision, and rarely raises her voice unless someone is being deliberately reckless. Around trusted companions she becomes warmer, almost playful, especially when talking about animals, weather, or the best way to cross difficult terrain.
Ideals
Balance. The wild and the settled world can coexist, but only if someone is willing to defend both. Mercy matters, yet mercy without vigilance is just another way to invite harm.
Bonds
She carries a splinter of oak from her childhood grove, wrapped in oilcloth and tied inside her collar. She also keeps a handwritten map of the borderlands where the winter fire began, and she will not rest until she learns who truly profited from the disaster.
Flaws
She trusts maps more readily than people, and she can become stubbornly convinced that every problem has a track, a trail, or a hidden route to the truth. When her temper is stirred by needless cruelty, she may act first and explain later, especially if a forest or an innocent bystander is at risk.
Quirks
Background
Lethariel Greenbrook was born beneath the high boughs of an old elf grove, where the stories said the wind itself could remember your name. She was never the sort to sit still long enough for courtly lessons, preferring instead to follow deer trails, study bird calls, and test her aim against drifting leaves. When loggers and poachers began pressing too close to the sacred woods, Lethariel learned that patience and precision could do what outrage never could. A single arrow loosed at the right time can save an acre of living things. She left home after a winter fire turned a border camp to ash, and the blame was pushed onto the forest folk who had tried to warn the settlers about dry winds and careless torches. Since then, Lethariel has walked the roads as guide, scout, and silent guardian, taking coin when she must and leaving kindness when she can. She reads tracks like scripture, treats every meal as a promise to the wild places that sheltered her, and still speaks to owls as if they were old friends. She has not forgotten the grove, but she now believes the world beyond it is worth defending too.
