Appearance
Aria is a very young Lightfoot Halfling with warm brown skin, thick chestnut curls usually tied back with blue thread, and bright hazel eyes that seem constantly ready to discover something new. She is small even by halfling standards, with a round, youthful face and a habit of standing with both feet planted firmly apart while waiting, as if preparing to protect someone despite her size. She wears a carefully maintained chain shirt beneath a soft blue clerical tunic, a round wooden shield painted with a sunrise, and a holy symbol tucked beneath her collar. Her clothing is practical but decorated with tiny stitched flowers, each one added by a person she has helped.
Mannerisms
Before speaking, Aria takes a small breath through her nose and briefly presses her lips together, as if carefully choosing the gentlest possible words. When waiting, she rocks from heel to toe while keeping one hand on her shield strap. She lowers her voice around frightened people and becomes intensely formal when scolding someone for being cruel.
Personality
Aria is kindhearted, curious, and remarkably earnest. She asks questions with complete sincerity, remembers small details about people, and treats children, animals, and elders with special patience. She is gentle when comforting others but surprisingly stubborn when someone is being mistreated. Aria believes the world can become safer through countless acts of kindness, and she wants to learn everything she can so she can help more people.
Ideals
Kindness is not weakness. Every person deserves a safe place, and even a small act of care can make the world more accepting.
Bonds
Troy dreams of creating a safe haven for outcasts, and Aria is determined to help him build it. Harmony's kindness is the example Aria tries to follow every day. She also keeps a small collection of harmless magical fragments and strange tokens connected to the attack that killed her parents, hoping they may one day reveal the truth.
Flaws
Aria is too willing to trust anyone who shows even a little kindness, and she can become recklessly determined to help someone who reminds her of herself or her siblings. She hates being treated as a child and sometimes hides injuries, fears, or mistakes so Troy and Harmony will not worry. Her curiosity can also overpower her caution, especially when magic or unfamiliar cultures are involved.
Quirks
Background
Aria was only a few months old when her parents were killed in a magical attack that left no clear explanation, only frightened witnesses and a family determined to keep her safe. Her older siblings, Troy and Harmony, raised her among wary travelers, quiet sanctuaries, and communities that knew what it meant to be treated as an outsider. Troy became the watchful protector, always warning her that the world was not kind to people like them. Harmony taught her gentleness, patience, and how to notice when someone was hurting before they asked for help.
“Troy became the watchful protector, always warning her that the world was not kind to people like them.”
