Faint celestial markings resembling branching storm clouds trace his temples and neck. He wears battered chain mail beneath dark blue vestments, a storm-gray cloak, and a polished silver holy symbol shaped like a thunderbolt. His presence is imposing, and the air around him often smells faintly of rain.

Darian is imperious, charismatic, and dramatically self-assured. He assumes that every room has been waiting for him to arrive and that every problem requires a decisive command. Beneath his arrogance lies genuine courage and a fierce instinct to protect the powerless, though he often helps people in ways that make it difficult for them to admit they needed help.

Darian Stormveil was born to House Stormveil, an old noble family whose ancestral estate stood upon a cliff above a violent sea. From childhood, he was taught that authority was not requested, it was exercised. His celestial blood manifested during a disastrous summer storm, when the young Darian shouted at the thunder and the lightning abruptly changed course. His family declared the event a divine sign, and Darian believed it proved that the heavens themselves recognized his command. He entered the priesthood after a wandering Tempest cleric witnessed him calm a raging squall through sheer force of will and introduced him to the worship of a storm deity. Darian became a zealous servant of thunder, rain, and destructive freedom, preaching that no ruler, mortal or divine, should be obeyed without question. He now travels as a noble emissary, holy enforcer, and self-appointed voice of the storm. He protects those who accept his authority, challenges those who do not, and treats every rumble of thunder as an answer to a question he has not yet finished asking.
