Appearance
Hank Hill is a towering warforged built from heavily riveted, rusty iron plates, with a broad muscle-like frame and a pair of blunt bull horns mounted above his furnace-like head. His armor is permanently integrated into his body, patched with old military plates and marked by faded campaign insignia. A weathered red scarf hangs from his neck, and his glowing amber eyes narrow whenever someone threatens the innocent. Despite his intimidating size, his movements are deliberate and practical, like a veteran trying very hard not to break the furniture.
Mannerisms
Hank speaks in a calm southern drawl and often pauses to inspect a damaged hinge, weapon, or door before continuing a conversation. He knocks twice on his own chest when making a promise, rolls his shoulders before a fight, and says, "Well, now, that ain't gonna hold," whenever he sees poor craftsmanship.
Personality
Hank is steady, courteous, and almost aggressively practical. He prefers honest work, clear promises, and tools that do exactly what they were made to do. His temper is cool until he sees bullying or cowardice, at which point his voice gets quieter, his horns lower, and he walks directly toward the trouble. He is protective of companions, suspicious of grand speeches, and secretly pleased whenever someone notices that he keeps his rusty body carefully maintained.
Ideals
Freedom. Laws and orders are useful tools, but no command is more important than protecting people from needless cruelty.
Bonds
Hank still carries the faded insignia of the infantry company that taught him what loyalty truly means. Most of that company is gone, and he believes he owes it to their memory to protect ordinary people from commanders, monsters, and anyone else who thinks the weak are convenient casualties. He also searches for the traveling smith who originally crafted his horns, hoping to learn whether he was made as a weapon, a person, or both.
Flaws
Hank is so stubborn that he can mistake changing his mind for moral failure. He has little patience for subtle plans, flattering nobles, or anyone who uses fancy words to avoid saying what they mean. When his temper finally breaks, he charges toward the problem before considering whether the problem is trapped, magical, or vastly larger than he is.
Quirks
Background
Hank Hill was crafted in a battlefield forge for one purpose, to stand where the line was weakest and refuse to move. His smith gave him a broad iron frame, heavy limbs, and a pair of bull horns intended to make enemy cavalry hesitate. Hank took to soldiering with an unusual mixture of discipline and stubborn independence. He followed orders when they protected people, but ignored them when officers treated civilians as expendable. Over years of campaigns, his once-polished plates became orange with rust, his joints grew scarred, and his reputation grew larger than his frame.
