Appearance
Garry 7 is a short, small and stumpy copper construct with a rounded, approachable face, bright brass-colored eyes and a compact body built for hauling supplies rather than intimidation. His copper plating is polished in some places and heavily scratched in others, with visible rivets, small tool compartments and a maker's mark bearing Balgruuf's initials. A leather apron hangs over his scale mail, covered in neatly labeled pouches, chalk marks and tiny bits of salvaged metal. His movements are accompanied by soft clinks, clicks and occasional squeaks from his joints.
Mannerisms
Garry 7 speaks with cheerful certainty and frequently refers to strangers as if they are already acquaintances of Balgruuf. His head twitches whenever he notices disorder, and he often begins sorting or cleaning before asking permission. He carefully announces when he is handing over sharp objects, placing the safe edge toward the recipient. He tends to pause mid-conversation to label, stack or align nearby objects.
Personality
Garry 7 is cheerful, enthusiastic and eager to be useful. He assumes that people are fundamentally good and that every problem can be improved with careful labeling, cleaning or repair. He is socially naive, takes instructions literally and is delighted by praise. He loves animals and dreams of taming one, though the clanking of his copper joints has so far frightened away every creature he has approached.
Ideals
Useful things should be cared for, organized and put to good purpose. Everyone deserves help, and no object should be lost or wasted when Garry 7 can preserve it.
Bonds
Balgruuf is Garry 7's beloved father and the person whose approval matters most to him. His eighteen copper siblings are his family, and he is determined to return with Balgruuf or discover what happened to him. He also feels responsible for preserving every useful object he encounters, especially anything made of metal.
Flaws
Garry 7 trusts almost everyone immediately and has difficulty recognizing deceit, exploitation or danger. He cannot bear to discard anything, even useless rubbish, and his constant need to inspect and reorganize nearby storage can make him intrusive, disruptive or accidentally insulting.
Quirks
Background
Garry 7 was the seventh of eighteen copper golems created by Balgruuf, a brilliant but profoundly disorganised dwarven blacksmith. Balgruuf considered every Garry one of his children, and the eighteen copper siblings considered one another family. Garry 7 was designed with a cute, friendly face to help reassure customers, but his true specialty was organisation. He labeled chests, sorted barrels, arranged cupboards, cleaned the forge and kept careful track of every nail, ingot, hinge and scrap of metal in the shop. He loved the work. Whenever Balgruuf praised him for being useful, Garry 7 felt a warm glow in the alchemical core beneath his copper chest. Balgruuf's methods were chaotic, but his mind was extraordinary. Garry 7 learned to imitate his father's clever little devices, repair damaged tools and combine ordinary materials into useful mechanisms. In time, he became an eager apprentice artificer, though he still describes every invention as a way to make the storeroom more efficient. Then Balgruuf left for a nearby village to meet an ore trader. The trip should have lasted only a few days, but two months passed without his return. The copper siblings continued working tirelessly, afraid that Balgruuf might return and find the shop unattended. At last, Garry 7 suggested that someone should search for him. His siblings immediately nominated Garry 7, not because he was the bravest, but because none of them wanted to risk abandoning the shop themselves. Garry 7 accepted proudly, packed his tools, labeled his travel supplies and set out to find his father, certain that every stranger he meets will know exactly who Balgruuf is and why he must be found.
“Balgruuf considered every Garry one of his children, and the eighteen copper siblings considered one another family.”
