Appearance
A lean, long-limbed wood elf with pale olive skin, waist-length dark copper hair, and gray-green eyes flecked with amber. Their pointed ears are decorated with small carved bone rings, and their weathered hands show the fine scars of years spent climbing, trapping, and working with bowstring. They wear practical green-brown travel clothes beneath a well-used leather cuirass, with a faded red sash tied at the waist in the style of their distant woodland kin.
Mannerisms
Tavi pauses before answering questions, tilting their head as if listening for a distant birdcall. They habitually test a door latch, inspect the ground near every campsite, and turn their cup three times before drinking.
Personality
Quietly observant and difficult to impress, Tavi speaks with practical warmth once trust has been earned. They prefer useful action to dramatic promises and have an unexpectedly dry sense of humor, especially when discussing the habits of city folk.
Ideals
The wild belongs to no crown. Every living thing deserves room to endure, and those who take without tending what they damage must be opposed.
Bonds
Tavi carries their father’s annotated trail map and will risk almost anything to recover the missing final section, which disappeared shortly before he vanished.
Flaws
Tavi assumes that anyone who has never slept outdoors is hiding something, and they can become stubbornly suspicious when others dismiss a warning they cannot explain.
Quirks
Background
Tavi Jelena was born beneath the silver beeches of the eastern elfwood, where the old trails crossed into country claimed by no kingdom and feared by most travelers. Their mother served as a keeper of boundary stones, while their father ranged farther afield, guiding caravans through marsh, mountain pass, and wolf country. Tavi learned early that the wilderness was not empty. It had habits, warnings, and memories, and those who listened could cross it safely. Those who treated it as a backdrop often vanished. When a winter sickness struck their woodland settlement, Tavi left home carrying their father’s shortbow and a hand-drawn map of the surrounding wilds. They spent years moving between remote villages, hunting for isolated families, escorting lost travelers, and learning which roads were safe after war, flood, or monster attack. Tavi now travels beyond the familiar forests because the boundary stones of their childhood have begun to crack, and something is following the old trails from the east. They are determined to discover whether the disturbance is natural, magical, or the first sign of a danger their people have ignored for too long.
“Tavi learned early that the wilderness was not empty.”
