Appearance
Torashiro Beimu is a lean, athletic tabaxi woman with cream and russet fur patterned like dappled sunlight through autumn leaves. Her amber eyes are sharp and wary, and a long, expressive tail betrays emotions she tries to conceal. She wears battered chain mail beneath crimson and ivory shrine vestments, carrying a family katana at her hip and a polished bow across her back. Around her neck hangs an old necklace containing the unknowingly bound soul of a shrine maiden. Her holy symbol bears the image of a tiger beneath a crescent moon.
Mannerisms
Beimu sits with perfect formal posture, keeps one hand near her sword when strangers approach, and bows slightly before drawing a weapon. When agitated, her ears flatten and her tail lashes in sharp, controlled motions. Before sleeping, she places the necklace beside her and whispers the names of her lost clan.
Personality
Torashiro is disciplined, observant, and quietly compassionate. She speaks with the formal restraint of a warrior trained to honor duty, but her tabaxi instincts make her intensely curious about unfamiliar people, sacred objects, and unexplained omens. She wants to be a faithful servant of Toranogetsu, yet every prayer is shadowed by the memory of her ruined clan and the fear that the goddess has mistaken her for someone else.
Ideals
Justice. The dead cannot speak for themselves, so I will carry their grief and bring their killers to judgment. If the Tiger Moon Goddess truly chose me, then divine service must reveal the path rather than erase my purpose.
Bonds
The necklace containing the shrine maiden's soul is the last surviving relic of Beimu's clan. She is determined to uncover the truth behind its power and protect it, even if doing so costs her life.
Flaws
Beimu is so consumed by the need for revenge that she can mistake suspicion for certainty. She struggles to accept help, fears that abandoning her vengeance would betray her dead family, and becomes defensive whenever anyone questions whether she is truly Toranogetsu's chosen shrine maiden.
Quirks
Background
Torashiro Beimu was born beneath the banners of a powerful tabaxi war clan. Her father, a disciplined samurai, taught her to meet danger blade-first, while her mother, an onna-bugeisha, taught her patience, observation, and the deadly certainty of a well-placed arrow. Their clan guarded old roads and sacred ground, but one night an unknown force descended upon them. By dawn, the clan had been erased, and Beimu was the only survivor. She recovered her family necklace from the ashes and carried it away as her final connection to home. Unbeknownst to her, the necklace contained a fragment of a shrine maiden's soul, along with a dormant spark of divine power.
