Appearance
Vasha stands over six feet tall with ash-grey skin and jet-black hair pulled into a tight, military bun. She eschews traditional robes for a sleek, modern tactical suit of black plates and reinforced carbon-fiber. Around her neck sits a pristine white priest's stole, stark against the dark armor. Her tusks are capped in silver, and her eyes glow with a dim, violet necrotic light when she speaks of the afterlife.
Mannerisms
Vasha has a habit of checking her watch or a handheld device immediately after someone dies, as if logging a precise time of death. She speaks in the past tense about people even if they are currently dying in front of her.
Personality
Quiet, professional, and unnervingly calm. Vasha views death not as a tragedy, but as the final, most important contract of a person's life. She speaks with a low, melodic rasp and rarely loses her temper, preferring to resolve conflicts with cold efficiency rather than rage.
Ideals
Balance. Death is the only true equalizer, and I am its professional representative.
Bonds
The syndicate I served still respects my authority, and I owe a debt to the street urchins who act as my eyes and ears.
Flaws
I am desensitized to suffering. I often forget that the living have feelings until they start screaming.
Quirks
Background
Born in the sprawling slums of a mega-city, Vasha started her career as a cleaner for a high-profile crime syndicate. Her job was to dispose of bodies and evidence. In the cold silence of the morgues and the dark corners of the industrial districts, she felt a profound connection to the transition between life and death. She realized that every soul she processed deserved a final rites that the underworld denied them. Eventually, she stop being the cleaner and became the priestess, serving the god of death by ensuring that those who lived by the blade were ushered properly into the void. She transitioned from a low-level criminal to a high-ranking urban oracle. Now at the peak of her power, she balances her role as a spiritual guide with the pragmatic skills she learned on the streets. She is a woman who knows exactly how many coins it takes to bury a man and exactly which prayers will keep his soul from coming back to complain about it.
“She realized that every soul she processed deserved a final rites that the underworld denied them.”
