Appearance
Osne is a broad-shouldered red-scaled dragonborn woman with swept-back ivory horns, amber eyes, and a heavy jaw marked by a thin scar across one cheek. Her scales are deep crimson along her back and shoulders, fading to copper around her throat and hands. She wears battered hide armor beneath a weather-stained green cloak, and carries a massive greataxe alongside a pair of handaxes. A braided cord around her wrist holds a small wooden carving of the village she once defended.
Mannerisms
Osne rolls one shoulder before a fight, taps the haft of her greataxe when thinking, and lowers her voice to an almost polite whisper when she is truly furious. She laughs loudly at her own jokes and always insists that the largest portion of food be given to whoever worked hardest that day.
Personality
Osne is warm-hearted, blunt, and intensely protective. She prefers honest arguments to polite deception, sleeps lightly around strangers, and has an instinctive habit of placing herself between danger and anyone smaller or less confident. Despite her fearsome reputation, she is gentle with animals, children, and broken tools, believing that anything useful deserves a chance to be repaired.
Ideals
Freedom. No lord, monster, or law has the right to make the powerless kneel. People should be allowed to choose their own path, even if that path is messy and foolish.
Bonds
The people of her home valley trusted Osne when no one else would. She will risk anything to protect them and hopes one day to rebuild the bridge where her legend began.
Flaws
Osne is quick to anger and treats compromise as though it were surrender. Once she decides someone is a threat, convincing her otherwise is difficult. She also has a habit of accepting every challenge offered to her, even when pride makes the situation more dangerous.
Quirks
Background
Osne was born in a remote farming valley where dragonborn were rare enough to be treated as omens and common enough to be blamed whenever trouble came. Her family tended orchards and raised sturdy pack goats, but Osne always possessed more strength than patience. When a band of raiders demanded tribute from the valley, the local militia prepared to surrender their food stores. Osne instead seized a woodcutter's axe, rallied the villagers, and stood in the narrow bridge passage until the raiders broke against her fury. The victory made her a folk hero, though the bridge still bears the deep scars of her battle. Afterward, Osne discovered that defending one village was not enough. Corrupt officials, cruel mercenaries, and monsters all preyed on ordinary people who had no champion to answer for them. She left home with the blessing of her neighbors, carrying their old iron greataxe and a promise to return when she had made the roads safer. Her temper is sudden, her methods are direct, and her sense of justice is fiercely personal. She does not seek glory, but she will gladly become the loudest and most dangerous person in the room when someone helpless is being threatened.
