- Hack and Slash
When When you attack an enemy in melee
When you attack an enemy in melee, roll+STR. On a 10+, you deal your damage to the enemy and avoid their attack. At your option, you may deal +1d6 damage but expose yourself to the enemy's attack. On a 7-9, you deal your damage to the enemy and the enemy makes an attack against you.
- Volley
When When you take aim and shoot at an enemy at range
When you take aim and shoot at an enemy at range, roll+DEX. On a 10+, you have a clear shot and deal your damage. On a 7-9, choose one: you have to move to get the shot, placing yourself in danger; you have to take what you can get, dealing -1d6 damage; or you have to take several shots, reducing your ammo by 1.
- Defy Danger
When When you act despite an imminent threat or suffer a calamity
When you act despite an imminent threat or suffer a calamity, say how you deal with it and roll the relevant ability. On a 10+, you do what you set out to do and avoid the threat. On a 7-9, you stumble, hesitate, or flinch, and the GM will offer you a worse outcome, hard bargain, or ugly choice.
- Defend
When When you stand in defense of a person, item, or location under attack
When you stand in defense of a person, item, or location under attack, roll+CON. On a 10+, hold 3. On a 7-9, hold 1. So long as you stand in defense, when you or the thing you defend is attacked, you may spend hold 1-for-1 to choose an option: redirect an attack from the thing you defend to yourself; halve the attack's effect or damage; or open up the attacker to an ally, giving that ally +1 forward against the attacker.
- Spout Lore
When When you consult your accumulated knowledge about something
When you consult your accumulated knowledge about something, roll+INT. On a 10+, the GM will tell you something interesting and useful about the subject. On a 7-9, the GM will only tell you something interesting. The GM may ask you how you know the information.
- Discern Realities
When When you closely study a situation or person
When you closely study a situation or person, roll+WIS. On a 10+, ask the GM three questions from the list. On a 7-9, ask one. Take +1 forward when acting on the answers: What happened here recently? What is about to happen? What should I be on the lookout for? What here is not what it appears to be? What is the true position of my enemy? Who is really in control here?
- Parley
When When you have leverage on a GM character and manipulate them
When you have leverage on a GM character and manipulate them, roll+CHA. Leverage is something they need or want. On a 10+, they do what you ask if you first assure them you will do what they ask. On a 7-9, they will do what you ask, but need some assurance of your promise right now.
- Deity
When When you choose and invoke your deity
You serve and worship a deity who grants you power. Name your deity and choose its domain: Healing and Restoration; Blood and Sacrifice; Civilization; Knowledge and Hidden Things; Nature and Animals; or War and Conquest. Your deity's favored weapon is the mace, and its sign is a pale sun sinking beneath a silver horizon.
- Commune
When When you spend uninterrupted time in communion with your deity
When you spend uninterrupted time in communion with your deity, you lose any spells you had already prepared and gain new spells of your choice whose total levels do not exceed your level+1. You also prepare your rotes, which never count against your limit.
- Cast a Spell
When When you cast a cleric spell granted by your deity
When you cast a spell granted by your deity, roll+WIS. On a 10+, the spell is successfully cast and your deity does not revoke it. On a 7-9, the spell is cast, but choose one: you draw unwelcome attention or put yourself in a spot; the casting distances you from your deity, take -1 ongoing to cast spells until you commune; or the spell is revoked. Note that maintaining spells with ongoing effects may sometimes cause a penalty to your roll.
- Prepare Spells
When When you prepare your spells after communing with your deity
You prepare all of your rotes and 1st-level spells for which you have access. You may prepare a total number of spells equal to your level+1. Your rotes do not count against this limit.
- Turn Undead
When When you hold your holy symbol aloft and call upon your deity to repel undead
When you hold your holy symbol aloft and call upon your deity, roll+WIS. On a 10+, none of the undead you can see can approach you until you stop praying. On a 7-9, you choose one: the effect is short-lived, the nearest undead flees, or you draw unwanted attention from a powerful undead presence. On a 6-, your deity still acts, but the GM makes a move.
- Alignment: Good
When When you endanger yourself to heal another
Your alignment move is: Good. When you endanger yourself to heal another, gain +1 forward. This bonus applies after you accept the danger and before you make the roll.
- Human Faith
When When you pray for guidance
Your faith is unwavering. When you pray for guidance, even a deity may answer. The GM may provide a sign, omen, or brief insight connected to your prayer, though the answer may be symbolic or incomplete.
- TraitHumanAdaptable and resilient human spirit.
- TraitHumanHuman faith allows even a distant deity to answer sincere prayers for guidance.

Appearance
A young human woman with bright blonde hair, clear gray-blue eyes, a compact athletic build, and an almost unnervingly gentle posture. She wears practical chainmail beneath a pale blue traveling robe, a moon-white holy symbol at her throat, and sturdy boots dusted from the road. When waiting, she stands perfectly still with both hands resting on her mace, but the instant danger appears she moves with startling speed.
Mannerisms
She speaks softly and pauses before answering, as if choosing words with care. When angry, she stops blinking, lowers her voice, and grips her mace with both hands. She often touches her holy symbol when someone nearby is frightened.
Personality
Kind, soft-spoken, and attentive to people who feel overlooked. Nova offers reassurance before advice and prefers to solve problems without violence, but her patience ends abruptly when someone abuses the vulnerable. In battle she becomes focused, efficient, and terrifyingly direct.

Bonds
____ once trusted me with a wound they thought no one else could heal, and I will not abandon them. I owe ____ a debt for standing beside me when my temper nearly turned a victory into a slaughter. I believe ____ can become better than their worst deed, even if they do not believe it themselves.
Flaws
Nova's temper is sudden and intense. She can forgive fear, confusion, and even betrayal, but cruelty toward the weak makes her judgment reckless. After losing her temper, she often becomes ashamed and tries to repair the damage alone.

Background
Nova Loralight was raised in a quiet hill village where the last light of day was treated as sacred. Her family kept lamps burning in every window through the long winter nights, and Nova learned early that comfort could be an act of defiance. She became a devoted servant of the twilight between day and night, tending the sick, guiding travelers home, and listening patiently to anyone who feared the dark. Her kindness is genuine, but it is not endless. Nova has little tolerance for cruelty disguised as necessity, and her soft voice becomes frighteningly calm when someone threatens the helpless. During a raid on her village, she discovered that her prayers could turn aside blades and close wounds, but she also learned how quickly holy anger could become destructive. Now she travels with adventurers to protect people caught between monsters, tyrants, and their own despair. She seeks a way to preserve mercy without letting rage consume the light she carries.
