Appearance
Merrigwynn is a medium-height aasimar with warm brown skin, tightly curled black hair threaded with a few naturally silver strands, and pale amber eyes that seem brighter in candlelight. Their face is open and alert, with a thoughtful mouth usually pressed into a line while they read or listen. They move with a slight forward lean and a deliberate, measured gait, as though always approaching a lectern or battlefield formation. Their chain mail is carefully maintained but visibly patched at the left shoulder, while their white surcoat is too long in the sleeves and repeatedly rolled back. A small leather case of quills hangs from their belt beside a polished holy symbol, each item arranged with almost fussy precision.
Mannerisms
Merrigwynn silently mouths the first few words of a sentence before speaking it aloud. When thinking, they square nearby objects with the edge of the table, including weapons, cups, and other people's papers.
Personality
I am patient with ignorance, but not with deliberate misinformation. I prefer a quiet archive to a crowded feast, yet I become unexpectedly warm when someone asks a sincere question. I treat every battle as a problem of positioning, timing, and protecting the person least able to protect themselves.
Ideals
Truth should be defended, not worshiped. A fact that destroys the powerless is not wisdom until someone finds a way to use it justly.
Bonds
I will recover the missing pages of the celestial manuscript, even if the people who hid them would rather see me dead.
Flaws
When I discover an important secret, I assume I am the only person responsible enough to decide when others may hear it.

Background
Merrigwynn was raised among traveling archivists who moved from monastery to manor, trading careful repairs, illuminated copies, and honest labor for access to restricted shelves. Their celestial heritage first revealed itself when a dying scholar placed a forbidden codex in Merrigwynn’s hands. The book ignited with harmless silver fire, exposing a hidden genealogy of saints, tyrants, and fallen angels. From that moment, Merrigwynn became convinced that history was not merely a record of the past, but a weapon that could either protect the innocent or be twisted against them. Their studies eventually brought them to a small temple whose priests taught that knowledge without courage was only another form of cowardice. Merrigwynn trained with sword and shield, taking vows to defend people endangered by lies, stolen relics, and deliberately buried truths. They became a paladin not because they crave glory, but because some discoveries cannot be safely carried by a scholar alone. Now they travel with a half-translated celestial manuscript, searching for the missing pages and the power that destroyed the archive where it was kept.
