Appearance
Dethis is a lean tiefling with dusky umber skin, swept-back horns, and a long, carefully braided tail. She walks with a measured, slightly favoring step, as if always making room for someone beside her. Her clerical clothes are plainly mended at the elbows, but her small silver holy symbol is polished until it catches every candle flame.
Mannerisms
She pauses before answering, as if weighing whether a question is really a request for help. When listening, she rests one hand lightly on her holy symbol.
Personality
Quietly attentive and patient, Dethis notices who has been left out of a conversation and makes room for them. She is gentle without being meek, and unexpectedly firm when someone is denied care.
Ideals
Mercy. Aid should be given because it is needed, not because the person asking has earned approval.
Bonds
She keeps the shrine's polished silver holy symbol close, and intends to rebuild a place of refuge where no traveler has to prove they deserve help.
Flaws
She takes responsibility for suffering she could not have prevented, and will exhaust herself helping someone who may not want her help.

Background
Dethis grew up in a room above a small roadside shrine, where travelers were more likely to notice her horns than the feverish child she was helping carry inside. The shrine's old keeper taught her prayers as practical work: wash the wound, bring water, listen first, then speak the words. When the keeper died, Dethis stayed on, tending the shrine and learning to read the needs people tried to hide behind fear or politeness. A fire swept through the shrine one winter night, leaving its stones standing but its roof and stores ruined. Dethis survived by guiding the few travelers sheltering there to safety, then joined a wandering company of clergy who could offer care beyond the shrine's empty walls. She has taken up the mace and shield not out of love for battle, but because she believes a healer should be able to stand between danger and the people who cannot run. She carries the shrine's salvaged silver symbol, and still considers every safe bed and clean bandage a kind of answered prayer.
