Appearance
Malice is a tall, wiry drow woman with obsidian skin, white hair braided tightly against her scalp, and pale violet eyes that seem almost colorless in bright light. A thin scar runs from the corner of her mouth to her jaw, left by a ritual blade during her abandonment of House Travra. She wears practical chain mail beneath layered crimson, violet, and black robes, arranged in a style inspired by surface samurai armor. Her two curved scimitars hang at her hips, their hilts wrapped in spider-silk cord and lacquered bone.
Mannerisms
Malice speaks softly and rarely uses names. Before making a threat, she smooths an imaginary crease from her sleeve. When someone lies to her, she tilts her head as though listening to a distant spider moving across a web.
Personality
Malice is composed, observant, and intensely devout. She studies every conversation for leverage, every room for exits, and every companion for the precise pressure point that would make them betray someone else. She does not rant about Lolth or demand constant praise. Instead, she treats every successful deception, ambush, and act of calculated cruelty as a quiet prayer.
Ideals
Devotion. Mercy is a chain, fairness is a lie, and obedience is the only virtue that survives the spider's web. I will become whatever weapon Lolth requires.
Bonds
Lolth is the only being Malice recognizes as worthy of absolute loyalty. She secretly keeps one broken insignia from House Travra, not as a keepsake of love, but as a reminder of the house she must one day destroy if Lolth demands it.
Flaws
Malice mistakes cruelty for proof of devotion. She cannot resist escalating a contest once blood has been drawn, even when retreat or negotiation would better serve Lolth. She also treats kindness as a trap, which makes genuine alliances nearly impossible.
Quirks
Background
Malice was born into House Travra, where she was trained from childhood to become a priestess of Lolth. She possessed the discipline, memory, and cruelty expected of her, but never excelled at the elaborate social warfare that surrounded the priesthood. Her prayers were precise, her sacrifices immaculate, and her devotion unquestionable, yet she remained more comfortable with a blade in her hand than a sermon on her tongue. During a proving rite beneath the city, Malice entered a web-choked cavern to offer the blood of a rival house. The spiders did not kill her. Instead, they covered her in silk and left a black mark beneath her collarbone, a sign she understood as Lolth's command to become something other than a priestess.
“She possessed the discipline, memory, and cruelty expected of her, but never excelled at the elaborate social warfare that surrounded the priesthood.”
