Appearance
A tall, fair-skinned aasimar woman with luminous amber eyes, a faint gold sheen to her hair, and a slender build that hides surprising resilience. She wears worn leather armor beneath a patched travel cloak, with a small iron charm and a blackened pact token hanging at her throat. Her hands are callused from honest labor, but her left palm bears a subtle radiant sigil that brightens when she channels magic.
Mannerisms
She speaks gently until threatened, then her voice becomes calm and precise. When thinking, she rubs her thumb over the edge of her pact token, and when embarrassed she looks up as if checking whether the stars approve.
Personality
Warm, practical, and stubbornly compassionate, Seren treats mercy as a discipline rather than a weakness. She can laugh easily, but in battle she becomes eerily focused, as if every dangerous thing in the room has suddenly become her responsibility.
Ideals
Protection. Power is only worth having if it can shield those who cannot shield themselves.
Bonds
She will not abandon the people who sheltered her after her first public victory, even if doing so costs her reputation, freedom, or soul. She keeps a scorched charm from the night she sealed her pact, and she touches it whenever she doubts herself.
Flaws
She is too quick to shoulder blame, even for disasters she could not reasonably prevent. When tempted by power, she tells herself it is only temporary and for the greater good, which is exactly how the worst bargains begin.
Quirks
Background
Seren Vale was born under a sky that split open with summer lightning, and the midwife swore the newborn girl had a glow in her eyes before the lamp was even lit. The village took it as a blessing, though Seren herself grew up caring little for omens. She preferred helping thresh grain, hauling water, and sneaking off to break up fights between stubborn neighbors. When a blight or raider threat struck the hamlet, Seren was the one who stood in the gap with a borrowed spear and a voice that somehow made frightened people believe they could survive. The tale spread, and soon she was called a hero, though she never felt like one. She only knew she could not bear to watch ordinary people suffer when she had breath enough to act.
