Appearance
Jax is a young human man in his early twenties with a lean, wiry build shaped by recent training and the lingering softness of youth. His pale skin bears a few faint scars, including one across his knuckles and another along his jawline. He has a sharp-featured face, high cheekbones, a straight nose, and dark, intelligent brown eyes that remain wide and observant even when his expression is neutral. His dark brown hair, once kept short in military fashion, has grown into a tousled mess that falls just past his ears. A light dusting of stubble shadows his jaw. In casual settings he wears a faded black band-logo T-shirt beneath a worn gray hoodie, dark slim-fit jeans, and scuffed black combat boots. During training, he wears a fitted black athletic uniform, tactical harness, and carefully maintained boots. He is currently standing in a training room with a matte black floor, carrying a bonded tactical longsword and a compact shield.
Mannerisms
Jax rolls his shoulders before a fight, checks every exit without appearing to look, and rubs the scar across his knuckles when thinking. He tends to answer tense questions with dry understatement, often muttering, "That could have gone better," immediately before doing something reckless and effective.
Personality
Jax is intelligent, observant, and quick-witted, with a dry self-deprecating humor that surfaces whenever tension rises. He studies people as carefully as he studies battlefields, looking for the unspoken rules governing a room. His loyalty is real but conditional, earned through demonstrated value and consistent action rather than titles or promises. Beneath his controlled exterior is a young man who still wants approval from people who may never offer it freely.
Ideals
Competence is freedom. No one should have to beg the powerful for the right to survive, and the best way to protect people is to become too capable to discard.
Bonds
Jax is determined to protect the people still living on the fringes of Atrix Isle. He also keeps the worn identification patch of his first Civil Defense squad, whose members taught him discipline, loyalty, and the cost of trusting the wrong command.
Flaws
Jax assumes every kindness has a hidden price, and he can become calculating or evasive when frightened. He is ambitious enough to risk becoming the kind of person he once despised. When authority challenges him, he often obeys outwardly while quietly planning how to undermine the order.
Quirks
Background
Jax grew up on the fringes of Atrix Isle's corporate zones, where the towers were bright enough to cast permanent shadows over the neighborhoods below. His family survived through temporary work, favors, and careful silence. Jax learned early that power flowed upward, and that people without leverage were expected to be grateful for whatever scraps reached them. He worked warehouse shifts, repaired maintenance drones, hauled equipment, and learned to read the moods of supervisors before they spoke. Intelligence became his first form of armor, and ambition became his second.
