Appearance
Brier is a woman of rugged, feral beauty with skin tanned and calloused by years of exposure. Her hair is a tangled thicket of dark brown, often matted with leaves and soil. She has wide, alert eyes that rarely stay focused on one point for long, constantly scanning for threats. She wears scale mail that she has purposefully dulled with mud to avoid glints, and she often carries her boots tied to her belt, preferring the feel of the earth beneath her feet. Her hands are scarred and strong, suited for climbing and wrestling through undergrowth.
Mannerisms
Brier tends to squat or crouch rather than sit on chairs. She makes eye contact in a way that feels like a challenge, and she moves with a constant, predatory grace that makes her look ready to pounce.
Personality
Brier is blunt and literal, viewing the world through the lens of survival. She speaks in short sentences and often omits pleasantries. To her, a friend is a pack member to be protected, and a stranger is a potential predator until proven otherwise. She finds social rituals confusing and prefers the company of animals to most humans.
Ideals
Independence. I am my own master, and I survive because I am strong. People must learn to provide for themselves.
Bonds
The couple who brought me in from the snow are the only family I know. I would kill anyone who harmed them.
Flaws
I am deeply suspicious of comfort and luxury. I believe that a soft life makes a soft mind, and I often react with aggression to things I do not understand.
Quirks
Background
Abandoned as an infant in the Brier Wood, Brier was spared by a solitary badger and raised in the heart of the wild. She learned to speak only after a brutal winter forced her to raid a garden belonging to a retired adventuring couple. They spent years patiently taming the girl who lived under their porch, teaching her the Common tongue and the use of weapons. They realized she could never be a villager, so they translated human concepts into the rules of the pack. She eventually became a local legend when she slew a winter wolf that threatened the very village that had once ignored the child in the woods. Now, she serves as a guide and protector for those who venture too deep into the green. She carries a guild token from her mentors, acting as a bridge between the logic of the forest and the greed of civilization. She enters the world not to seek fame, but to find a pack worthy of her loyalty.
