Appearance
Mwana is on the skinnier side for a goliath, standing tall with a rangy, hourglass-shaped build that conceals immense strength. Her youthful face is soft and cute, with broad features, bright eyes, and a perpetually amused expression. She wears her short, unkempt afro in a messy halo, often with bits of grass, ash, or food caught in it. Her clothing is practical when she remembers to wear it, usually a battered chain shirt, loose trousers, and a weathered red sash. In battle, she sometimes discards all clothing simply to unsettle her enemies, treating their shock as another tactical advantage. She is effortlessly attractive, but seems almost entirely unaware of it and never uses her appearance to manipulate anyone.
Mannerisms
Mwana tilts her head when listening, as though deciding whether someone's words are worth consuming. She speaks plainly, laughs at inappropriate moments, and tends to inspect weapons, claws, and spell components with the interest of a cook examining ingredients. Before a fight, she rolls her shoulders, grins, and asks whether anyone has something interesting to teach her.
Personality
Mwana is blunt, playful, restless, and easily amused. She follows immediate instinct rather than elaborate plans, especially when danger is involved. She is comfortable with her body and treats clothing as equipment rather than a social obligation, occasionally entering combat naked to make her opponents hesitate. She is openly flirtatious and frequently seeks consensual sexual encounters for relaxation, curiosity, and companionship, never for money or leverage. Beneath her chaotic behavior is a sharp survival sense and a sincere dislike of cowardice disguised as discipline.
Ideals
Adaptation. Survival belongs to the person willing to become something new. No tradition, army, or god deserves obedience if it cannot survive contact with reality.
Bonds
She carries the cracked metal insignia of her old unit and intends to find the soldiers who were abandoned during the border campaign. She also feels responsible for the young goliath recruits who still believe unquestioning obedience is the same thing as honor.
Flaws
She mistakes impulse for instinct and often acts before considering consequences. She enjoys provoking people simply to see what they reveal, and she can become recklessly curious around dangerous magic, monsters, and people with interesting abilities. Her appetite for pleasure and novelty sometimes makes her careless about boundaries, timing, or the emotional consequences of her casual relationships.
Quirks
Background
Mwana Juma was raised among a highland goliath warband that valued endurance, directness, and the ability to laugh when the weather turned cruel. She was smaller than most of her kin, but nobody mistook her wiry frame for weakness after watching her drag a wounded hunter out of a ravine by herself. Mwana learned early that strength was not always about size. Sometimes it was timing, nerve, and the willingness to do the strange thing before anyone else had finished arguing about it. During a border campaign, Mwana survived an encounter with a dying creature whose essence poured into her through a forbidden rite. Instead of merely killing, she learned to take a fragment of what had made the creature dangerous. The experience changed the way she understood combat. Every enemy became a lesson, every wound a possible adaptation, and every narrow escape proof that survival belonged to whoever could change fastest. She left military service after consuming the essence of an officer who had ordered civilians abandoned, carrying away his instinct for battlefield command but none of his obedience. Now she travels as a Blu Magi, following appetite, curiosity, and impulse in equal measure. She is loyal when loyalty feels alive, irreverent when rules become too comfortable, and impossible to predict once a fight begins.
