Her hands are unusually distinctive, with thickened fingertips, ink-darkened nail beds, and fine calluses from years of copying manuscripts, grinding pigments, and tracing pact diagrams. She speaks in a low, careful voice that becomes almost whisper-quiet when she is frightened, while her breathing turns visibly measured and deliberate. A string of small brass page markers hangs from one ear, each stamped with a different symbol from a lost archive.

Ketek is patient, observant, and quietly protective. She listens more readily than she speaks, but once she has formed an opinion she defends it with stubborn precision. She has an almost devotional respect for books, maps, and well-kept records, yet she is far more comfortable around frightened travelers and children than around celebrated scholars.

Ketek grew up among a traveling goliath clan that measured worth by what one could carry for others. She was never the strongest climber or the fastest runner, so she became the clan's keeper of routes, weather records, medicinal notes, and remembered agreements. Her hands learned the work before her confidence did. She copied every map twice, repaired cracked tablets with resin, and developed a habit of reading aloud to the mountains because the echoes helped her catch mistakes. Her life changed when she found a sealed folio beneath the collapsed foundation of an abandoned observatory. The text was written in several dead languages, but its final page answered her questions in a voice that did not come from the room. Ketek accepted a pact with an infernal power she calls the Red Witness, not out of hunger for authority, but because the entity promised access to knowledge that might prevent ancient disasters from recurring. The bargain gave her strange magic, though very little natural force with which to wield it.
