16 featuresBonus action
- Second WindLevel 1
As a bonus action, Si'vaanther can regain 1d10 + 4 hit points once per short or long rest.
Reaction
- Battle Master ManeuversLevel 3
Si'vaanther learns three maneuvers: Menacing Attack, Precision Attack, and Riposte. Menacing Attack adds the superiority die to weapon damage and can frighten the target on a failed Wisdom saving throw. Precision Attack adds the superiority die to an attack roll after seeing the roll but before knowing whether it hits. Riposte uses a reaction after a creature misses him with a melee attack, allowing him to make one weapon attack and add the superiority die to its damage if the attack hits.

Appearance
Si'vaanther is a broad-shouldered tiefling with deep umber-red skin, swept-back black horns, and a long tail that curls tightly around his ankle when he stands at rest. Years of marching have left his skin weather-darkened and his hands rough with calluses. He holds himself in a rigid military posture, but when waiting he shifts his weight onto the balls of his feet, as though expecting an order or an ambush. His uniform is carefully maintained despite its age, with brass fittings polished bright and a faded red sash tied beneath his breastplate.
Mannerisms
He checks the position of every doorway when entering a room, answers questions with the clipped economy of a soldier, and unconsciously counts his breaths before making a difficult decision. When someone speaks nonsense, one corner of his mouth tightens as if he has just heard a badly delivered command.
Personality
Si'vaanther is patient, observant, and unusually difficult to provoke. He speaks to strangers as though they are recruits who might yet become reliable, and he shows affection through practical acts such as repairing equipment, standing watch, or silently taking the more dangerous position in a room. He has little interest in glory, but he takes quiet pride in being the person others look for when a situation becomes chaotic.
Ideals
Order. A plan shared by disciplined people can carry them through terror, hunger, and darkness. Freedom without responsibility is merely another kind of battlefield.
Bonds
He carries his father's dented shield, repaired so many times that its original heraldry is almost hidden. He believes it belongs to every soldier who once stood behind it, and he will risk himself to recover it if it is ever lost.
Flaws
He is slow to trust anyone who has never had to follow orders under pressure. When uncertain, he defaults to the chain of command, even when no real authority exists, and his calm neutrality can become callous indifference toward people he considers strategically irrelevant.
Quirks
Background
Si'vaanther was born in a border garrison where tiefling families were tolerated so long as they were useful, quiet, and willing to endure suspicion without complaint. His mother served as a quartermaster, and his human father was a shield sergeant who taught him that discipline was not obedience for its own sake, but the habit of being dependable when everyone else was afraid. Si'vaanther enlisted young, finding that a soldier's place in a formation mattered more than the shape of his horns or the color of his skin. He became known for holding difficult ground, not through brilliance or fury, but through stubborn precision and an instinct for the moment when an enemy's confidence began to break.
