Appearance
Raven is a broad-shouldered water genasi with blue-green skin that always seems faintly damp, as if sea mist follows him everywhere. His dark hair hangs in loose, ropey strands like wet kelp, and his eyes are pale silver-blue with a mischievous glint. He wears practical soldier's leathers under a weathered cloak, carries himself with an easy warrior's confidence, and has the relaxed posture of someone who expects to talk his way out of trouble before resorting to violence.
Mannerisms
He points with two fingers like he is nocking an invisible arrow, drums a rhythm on his armor when thinking, and smiles at the worst possible moments. When nervous, he folds and unfolds his hands as if practicing basket patterns. He addresses friends with battlefield nicknames, even in civilian settings.
Personality
Raven is charming, fast-talking, and difficult to dislike for long. He jokes first, flirts second, and assesses danger third, which is usually why he has more friends than common sense. Under the swagger is a disciplined soldier's core, because when things turn truly ugly, he becomes calm, direct, and frighteningly effective.
Ideals
Freedom. No banner should own a person's whole life, not even a noble cause. Service can be honorable, but choice matters more than obedience.
Bonds
He is fiercely loyal to the comrades who treated him like a person instead of a weapon, and he still writes to them whenever he can. He keeps a worn military token from his family, a reminder that he belongs to a legacy even if he refuses to live by its rules. Secretly, he treasures the oddest skill he ever learned, underwater basket weaving, because it was the first thing that was ever truly his and not his family's.
Flaws
Raven loves attention a little too much, and he will sometimes turn a serious situation into a joke just to keep the room on his side. He is stubborn when ordered around, especially by people who mistake rank for wisdom. He also has a habit of taking reckless risks for the thrill of proving he can win, even when a quieter plan would have kept everyone safer.
Quirks
Background
Raven was born into a family that treated war as inheritance. His parents and the people who raised him spoke of duty before lullabies, drills before games, and discipline before dreams. As the only child of a military line, he was expected to become a perfect soldier from the moment he could stand. He learned to shoot a bow before he learned to lie convincingly, though in his case the two skills quickly became inseparable. By the time he was old enough to serve, he had already become the sort of fighter who could put an arrow through a practice target while grinning at the sergeant who told him to stop flirting with the line of duty.
“His parents and the people who raised him spoke of duty before lullabies, drills before games, and discipline before dreams.”
