- Thieves' CantLevel 1

- Expert ForgeryKenkuYou can duplicate other creatures' handwriting and craftwork. You have advantage on checks to produce copies of objects.

Appearance
Echo is a slender Kenku with sleek black feathers that shimmer with an oily purple iridescence in the light. They often wear an oversized, faded doublet and a wide brimmed hat to obscure their avian features. A collection of small, jingling trinkets and stolen silver coins are woven into their plumage.
Mannerisms
They tilt their head sharply to one side when listening to someone speak, as if trying to catch every vibration.
Personality
Echo is a chronic mimic who rarely uses their own voice, preferring to cycle through the snippets of conversation they have overheard from guards and merchants. They are jittery and observant, constantly looking for an exit or a pocket to pick.
Ideals
Freedom. No person or law should have the power to put a bird in a cage, even if that bird lacks wings.
Bonds
I carry a lead coin that was the first thing I ever stole. It reminds me that I can make something out of nothing.
Flaws
I am easily distracted by the sound of beautiful or authoritative voices and will risk my life to record a new sound in my memory.

Background
Echo grew up in the slums of a sprawling metropolis, learning early on that their natural ability to mimic voices was worth more than gold. They spent years standing outside the windows of the High Court, memorizing the legal jargon and the specific cadences of the magistrates. By the age of twenty, Echo was running a successful scam where they would impersonate local officials to clear the debts of their criminal associates, or simply to gain access to free meals in fine taverns. Their luck ran thin when they accidentally mimicked the voice of a notorious guild leader during a botched heist. Forced to flee the city, Echo now travels as a freelance rogue, offering their unique talents for forgery and deception to whoever has the coin or the interesting stories to tell. They seek to find their own original voice, but the safety of a disguise is far more tempting.
