Appearance
A compact, broad-smiling Lightfoot Halfling with warm brown skin, thick black curls tied back with colored thread, and bright hazel eyes. He dresses in a well-cut but travel-worn burgundy coat over a cream shirt, with polished brass buttons and a blue sash inherited from his family. His fingertips are permanently roughened from years of lute strings, lock clasps, and embroidery needles. Within moments of meeting someone, he is likely to adjust the silver signet ring on his right hand or quietly check that his lute pick is still tucked behind his ear.
Mannerisms
He checks his signet ring whenever he is nervous, taps the rhythm of nearby conversations against his lute case, and punctuates important points by leaning forward as though sharing a secret. When lying, he becomes exceptionally formal and addresses everyone by their full name.
Personality
Warm, observant, and socially fearless. Mireyo treats every gathering as a performance, but he listens closely enough to notice who has been left out, who is pretending to laugh, and who needs a chance to speak. He is generous with compliments, merciless toward bullies, and happiest when an elegant plan can be improved by an unexpected act of kindness.
Ideals
Freedom. No birthright, law, or tradition should place one person's dignity beneath another's convenience.
Bonds
He carries his grandmother's silver signet ring and intends to restore his family's reputation by using its influence to protect people rather than control them.
Flaws
He cannot resist humiliating people who abuse their authority, even when patience or diplomacy would serve him better. He is also quietly terrified that his family was right about him being more charming than useful.

Background
Mireyo Valcoro was born into a halfling noble household whose influence came less from armies or estates than from hospitality. The Valcoros maintained a chain of roadside inns, music houses, and courier routes, and their name opened doors from river ports to mountain passes. Mireyo was expected to become a careful steward of the family network, but he was far more interested in the stories carried through it. He learned songs from traveling performers, learned languages from foreign guests, and discovered that a well-timed joke could settle an argument more cleanly than a signed decree. When a corrupt magistrate used the family's reputation to hide the disappearance of several migrant workers, Mireyo exposed the scheme during a public banquet by turning the evidence into a satirical song. The scandal cost his family several contracts, but it also forced the magistrate's allies to answer for their crimes. Mireyo left home afterward, partly to repair the family's name and partly because he had learned that noble comfort was worth little if it could not be used to protect people with less power. He now travels as a bard, collecting songs, favors, and inconvenient truths, while insisting that every audience deserves at least one honest laugh.
