Appearance
A broad, towering goliath man with slate-gray skin, a shaved head, and a carefully maintained dark braid falling between his shoulder blades. He stands with his feet planted wider than necessary, taking up space without seeming to notice it. His clothing and gear are orderly, every strap buckled and every weapon kept clean. Pale geometric markings run across his shoulders and forearms, identifying his extended family and military company. His most noticeable feature is not a wound but his deliberate stillness, he can make a crowded room feel arranged around him.
Mannerisms
Sheshan checks buckles, knots, and weapon straps whenever he is thinking. Before answering an important question, he plants both feet, squares his shoulders, and looks directly at the speaker. He addresses strangers by rank or function until invited to use their names.
Personality
Quiet, observant, and intensely dependable. Sheshan listens to every instruction as if it were a contract, then follows through with intimidating thoroughness. He has a dry sense of humor that appears without warning, usually after someone has made an unnecessarily complicated plan. Beneath his stern exterior, he is patient with frightened people and unexpectedly gentle with animals.
Ideals
Duty. A promise is a structure that keeps frightened people from falling through the cracks. I will uphold the law, but never at the cost of abandoning those it exists to protect.
Bonds
The soldiers of the abandoned mountain watch are his responsibility, even though most of them never learned his name. He sends part of every payment toward rebuilding their ruined outpost and will risk himself to protect anyone wearing its old company colors.
Flaws
He treats disagreement as a challenge to discipline and can become rigid when improvisation would serve him better. He is slow to forgive anyone who invokes rules for personal advantage, yet he secretly fears that his own moral code is only obedience wearing a cleaner uniform.
Quirks
Background
Sheshan was raised among the high crags where his goliath clan measured worth through endurance, reliability, and the ability to carry another person when the trail turned cruel. He was never the loudest challenger at the clan games, but he was the one who remembered the rules, repaired the equipment, and stayed awake during the last watch. His sense of order made him valuable to a human border regiment that recruited guides from the mountain passes. There, Sheshan learned to march under banners, obey commands without hesitation, and keep frightened recruits moving when the snow erased the road behind them. His service ended after a winter patrol discovered that an officer had abandoned a remote watch post to preserve his own supplies. Sheshan followed orders until the orders became impossible to reconcile with the regiment's duty, then broke formation, brought the stranded soldiers home, and accepted the disgrace that followed. He left with his insignia, his old gaming set, and a quiet conviction that law without responsibility is only a polished form of cowardice. Now he travels as a sellsword and protector, seeking work where discipline matters and testing whether his own strict code can survive outside the chain of command.
