- SpellcastingLevel 1
You can cast wizard spells using your Intelligence as your spellcasting ability. You prepare a number of wizard spells equal to your Intelligence modifier + your wizard level, minimum one. Your spellbook contains all wizard spells you have copied into it, and you can copy additional wizard spells when you find them.
- SpellbookLevel 1
You maintain a spellbook that records the wizard spells you know. You begin with six 1st-level wizard spells in your spellbook, and you can add more by copying them from other spellbooks or scrolls when time and gold allow.
- Arcane RecoveryLevel 1
After you finish a short rest, you can recover expended spell slots. The combined levels of the slots you recover must be equal to or less than half your wizard level, rounded up.
- School of EvocationLevel 2
When you choose the School of Evocation, your study of destructive and shaping magic teaches you to direct force with precision. Your evocation spells are especially focused and efficient.
- Sculpt SpellsLevel 2
When you cast an evocation spell that affects other creatures you can see, you can choose a number of them equal to 1 + the spell's level. The chosen creatures automatically succeed on their saving throws against the spell, and they take no damage if they would normally take half damage on a successful save.
- Ability Score ImprovementLevel 4
At 4th level, you can increase one ability score by 2, or two ability scores by 1, or take a feat if allowed by your campaign. Aeltharion used this increase to sharpen his Intelligence.

Appearance
A tall high elf with an ink-stained left hand, sharp silver eyes, and midnight-black hair tied back with a blue ribbon. He wears layered scholar's robes reinforced with hidden pockets for notes and spell components, and carries a well-loved spellbook bound in pale green leather. His expression is usually thoughtful, but it brightens with sudden excitement when a magical principle clicks into place.
Mannerisms
Speaks in precise, measured sentences and unconsciously traces symbols in the air when thinking. He pauses before answering direct questions, as if sorting his reply into footnotes. When excited, he taps the spine of his spellbook with one finger and smiles like he has found a hidden passage in a manuscript.
Personality
Patient, meticulous, and quietly enthusiastic, Aeltharion treats every ruin like a library waiting to be reopened. He is courteous to a fault, but his politeness can hide an iron stubbornness. He prefers careful planning over reckless heroics, though his curiosity can lure him into trouble faster than any blade.
Ideals
Knowledge should be preserved, but it should also serve the living. Secrets are not prizes to hoard, they are tools that should be used carefully to prevent needless suffering.
Bonds
He will not abandon a lost book, a broken archive, or anyone risking themselves to preserve knowledge. He keeps a page of singed parchment from the library fire tucked inside his spellbook, and he touches it whenever doubt threatens to slow him.
Flaws
He cannot resist correcting magical misinformation, even at the worst possible moment. When a mystery appears, he may chase it too far, too fast, convinced that one more clue will justify the risk. He is also poor at letting go of losses, and old failures can distract him from immediate danger.
Quirks
Background
Aeltharion Quill was raised in an elf enclave where history was treated like a living thing, cherished, argued over, and guarded like treasure. While other young elves practiced bow and blade, Aeltharion spent nights cataloging star charts, copying battlefield accounts, and testing harmless cantrips between the shelves. He discovered early that magic was not merely power, it was a language for asking the world better questions. That curiosity became an obsession, and eventually an elder archivist gave him access to sealed texts on lost schools of wizardry, a generosity that changed the course of his life. When a fire consumed part of the enclave's library, Aeltharion helped save dozens of volumes, but one manuscript vanished in the smoke, a treatise on evocation written by a long-dead master. He became convinced that the loss was not an accident, but a theft hidden inside the disaster. He left home with his spellbook, a copyist's patience, and a private vow to recover the missing work, not for glory, but because knowledge that survives only in rumor is knowledge already half dead. On the road, he has learned to trust practical adventurers, even if he still asks too many questions and annotates maps in the margins.
“He discovered early that magic was not merely power, it was a language for asking the world better questions.”
