Appearance
Torgga is a stout, wide-shouldered dwarf with salt-and-pepper hair tightly braided into thick coils. Her face is a map of her military career, featuring a jagged scar across her nose and a missing piece of her left ear. She wears heavy, mud-stained chain mail and carries a massive, notched warhammer that looks well-loved and frequently used. Her eyes are the color of cold flint, rarely softening even when she speaks of her faith.
Mannerisms
She constantly grinds her teeth when things are quiet. She stands with her feet planted wide as if braced for a cavalry charge, even in a tavern.
Personality
She is a woman of few words and loud actions. Torgga treats every interaction like a strategic briefing, concise and brutally honest. She has little patience for flowery language or bureaucratic posturing. While she can be gruff to the point of being offensive, she is fiercely protective of those she considers her unit. She views life as a series of battles to be won, and she finds peace only in the sound of hammering metal or the quiet after a victory.
Ideals
Victory. The only moral failure in war is losing because you were too timid to do what was necessary.
Bonds
I will never abandon a comrade in the field. To do so is to betray the divinity of the struggle itself.
Flaws
I am slow to trust anyone who has never seen the inside of a trench, and I tend to assume everyone in charge is a coward until they prove otherwise.
Quirks
Background
Torgga spent forty years in the Stoneheart Legion, serving as a combat medic and front-line sergeant. She was never particularly religious until the Battle of Red Pass, where her entire company was left to die as bait for a tactical maneuver by the high command. As she stood among the bodies of her kin, she did not pray for salvation. She prayed for the strength to break the line. Something in the iron-chilled air answered her, granting her the fury of the War Domain. Since that day, she has followed the path of the bloody anvil, seeking to guide warriors in a way that values their lives over political gain. She left the legion after the war ended, unable to return to a life of saluting the men who had abandoned her. Now she wanders as a mercenary of the divine, finding small wars where she can protect the soldiers and punish the unworthy. Every blow from her hammer is a ritual, every drop of blood spilled in a just cause is a sacrament. She carries the broken crests of her fallen squad members in a leather pouch, believing their spirits find rest only when she achieves another tactical victory in their names.
“As she stood among the bodies of her kin, she did not pray for salvation.”
