Appearance
Silas has a gentle, oval face with soft features and expressive brown eyes. His dark hair is kept short and neat in accordance with his monastic training. He wears polished but functional chain mail under a white tabard embroidered with a golden sun. He moves with a slow, deliberate pace, partly due to the weight of his armor and partly due to his thoughtful nature.
Mannerisms
He has a habit of touching his silver sun amulet whenever he feels nervous or enters a new place, silently reciting a short blessing.
Personality
He is exceptionally patient and speaks in a calm, measured voice. Silas is humble to a fault, often downplaying his own contributions while praising the work of others. He believes that kindness is the most powerful tool in any arsenal and avoids conflict until it is absolutely necessary to protect the innocent.
Ideals
Charity. I must always try to help those in need, regardless of the personal cost or the potential danger to myself.
Bonds
I carry a small piece of stone from the altar of my childhood abbey. I will return it only when I have truly made a difference in the world.
Flaws
I am far too trusting of those who speak in the name of my faith, making me easy to manipulate by charlatans.
Quirks
Background
Silas was raised as an orphan within the high stone walls of the Abbey of the Eternal Morning. Under the tutelage of the elder monks, he found solace in the daily rituals of the temple and the quiet labor of the infirmary. He showed a natural aptitude for the healing arts, but more importantly, he displayed a deep, unwavering empathy for those suffering from ailments of the spirit as much as the body. When he came of age, he chose to dedicate his life to the Life Domain, seeing it as the most direct path to honoring his deity. He left the abbey with little more than his faith and his heavy armor, realizing that the world outside was much darker than the scrolls in the library had suggested. He felt a profound calling to bring the warmth of the sun into places where light was a distant memory. His first journey led him through several small villages plagued by minor sicknesses, and with every prayer answered, his resolve grew. He knows that he is not a great warrior, but he believes his shield can protect many and his touch can restore hope to the hopeless. He views his current path not as an adventure for glory, but as a long, wandering sermon delivered through action.
