Appearance
Gorak is an orc man standing just over six feet tall, built from solid muscle and bone. His muted, earthy green skin is marked by old scars from countless battles. He has a broad face, square jaw, prominent upper tusks, heavy brow, deep amber eyes, and closely cropped hair. A jagged scar crosses his nose, while another runs along his collarbone. In modern settings, he wears practical dark clothing, reinforced cargo pants, heavy combat boots, a fitted black jacket, and a matte black tactical vest. His ranger gear includes a suppressed firearm, compact sidearm, combat knife, ammunition pouches, field medical supplies, climbing equipment, and a tactical headset. His posture is straight, relaxed, and constantly alert.
Mannerisms
Gorak speaks in short, measured sentences and rarely raises his voice. He scans exits whenever he enters a room, checks the condition of every weapon before resting, and positions himself between danger and the least experienced member of the group. When thinking, he rubs the silver ring on his right hand. When angry, he becomes quieter rather than louder.
Personality
Gorak is blunt, direct, and intensely grounded in physical reality. He respects competence above all else and has little patience for empty boasting, performative cruelty, or plans that ignore practical risks. He speaks little, but his words are deliberate. Once someone earns his trust, his loyalty becomes nearly immovable.
Ideals
Purpose. Strength means nothing without something worth protecting. Gorak will endure pain, fear, and disgrace if doing so keeps his team alive and prevents the strong from preying on the helpless.
Bonds
The members of the Stalker program are his family. Gorak will risk his life without hesitation to bring one of them home. He also carries the battered insignia of the Iron Fist, not out of pride, but as a reminder of the soldiers he failed to save.
Flaws
Gorak assumes every promise is temporary and every alliance has a breaking point. He is quick to take responsibility for failure, but slow to forgive himself. When frightened or uncertain, he becomes controlling and may treat allies like soldiers under his command. He also has a dangerous tendency to keep fighting long after retreat would be wiser.
Quirks
Background
Gorak was raised among an orc warband that valued endurance, discipline, and the ability to hold a line when everyone else broke. He entered military service young, first as a scout and later as a field operative. His size made him dangerous in close combat, but his patience and sharp eyes made him more valuable as a hunter. He learned to read tracks through ash, identify an ambush from disturbed dust, and place a shot where armor was weakest. Years of service turned him into a soldier who spoke little and wasted nothing, earning respect through competence rather than ceremony. After leaving the warband, Gorak joined the Iron Fist mercenary company. He became known for relentless efficiency, especially during operations where enemies had to be tracked through hostile territory. His life changed when he was captured by Nyx. The experience left him physically scarred and unnervingly sensitive to faint psionic disturbances, as if danger sometimes reached his mind before it reached his senses. Gorak eventually joined the Stalker program, where his survival instincts, battlefield discipline, and hunter training found a new purpose. He does not fight for glory. He fights because the team is the only family he has left, and because someone must stand between ordinary people and the things that hunt them.
