Appearance
Kebi is a lean human man with weather-darkened skin, black hair tied loosely at the nape, and a short, uneven beard threaded with gray. He stands with most of his weight on the balls of his feet, as if ready to leave before a conversation becomes important. His patched leather armor hangs slightly loose over a gray-green wool shirt, and his travel cloak has been repaired with mismatched squares of sailcloth. The one item he keeps immaculate is a small antler-handled sickle, polished after every journey. His eyes are alert and tired, and he carries the quiet air of someone who sleeps lightly.
Mannerisms
When waiting, Kebi rocks subtly from heel to toe and keeps one hand near his sickle. He pauses before answering difficult questions, watching birds, insects, or windblown leaves as though they might advise him. He cleans his focus each night, even when he neglects his own boots.
Personality
Kebi is quiet, observant, and unexpectedly gentle with the frightened or helpless. He prefers practical kindness to speeches, leaving food outside a poor family's door or repairing a broken trail marker without taking credit. He distrusts institutions and avoids forming attachments, yet he repeatedly risks himself for strangers.
Ideals
The living world has its own voice and deserves defenders, even when it cannot defend itself. Freedom means refusing to serve any throne, temple, or ambition that treats people and nature as possessions.
Bonds
He carries a carved wooden token from his destroyed home and will risk himself to protect any community threatened by outsiders who value profit over life.
Flaws
Kebi assumes that anyone offering easy help wants something dangerous in return. When guilt catches up with him, he chooses isolation over forgiveness, even when staying would help others more.
Quirks
Background
Kebi Draven was born in a small human settlement at the edge of a vast woodland, where his family trapped game, gathered medicinal plants, and guided travelers through country that maps treated as empty. He learned early that the wilderness was not empty at all. It had routes, tempers, warnings, and memories. An elderly druid took notice of his patience and taught him the Druidic tongue, the names of plants, and the discipline of listening before acting. Kebi became a guide and healer, more comfortable beneath open branches than beneath a roof. Years ago, Kebi led a group of armed prospectors through the forest. He believed he could keep them from harming the land, but he underestimated their greed and his own willingness to compromise. Their expedition disturbed an ancient place of power, and the consequences destroyed the settlement that had trusted him. Kebi survived, but he has never decided whether survival was a gift or a sentence. He now wanders without a destination, helping isolated villages, lost travelers, and wounded creatures whenever he can. He rarely speaks of the past, and when someone asks where he is going, he answers that the next place needing him is usually close enough.
“He learned early that the wilderness was not empty at all.”
