Bonus action
- Bardic InspirationLevel 1
Vesper can inspire others through stirring words or music. As a bonus action, she grants one creature within 60 feet a Bardic Inspiration die, a d6, which the creature can add to one ability check, attack roll, or saving throw made within the next 10 minutes. She can use this feature a number of times equal to her Charisma modifier, and regains all expended uses after a long rest.

Appearance
Vesper is a striking tiefling woman with deep wine-red skin, swept-back black horns, long dark hair with crimson streaks, and pale gold eyes that seem amused even when she is threatened. Her tail is slender and expressive, often curling around a chair leg or flicking impatiently behind her. She favors a well-tailored burgundy coat over a black leather corset and practical traveling clothes, with silver rings, hidden pockets, and a rapier balanced at her hip. A faded theatrical mask tattoo rests beneath her left eye.
Mannerisms
Vesper speaks as though she is always addressing an audience, even in private conversation. She punctuates sharp remarks with a small bow, taps her fingers against her lute when thinking, and smiles a fraction too widely when she is lying.
Personality
Charismatic, clever, and theatrically self-assured, Vesper treats every conversation like a performance. She is quick with sarcasm and quicker with a lie, but beneath her confidence is a watchful survivor who notices exits, hidden weapons, and changes in tone. She is slow to trust, yet fiercely loyal once someone proves they will not abandon her when the mask slips.
Ideals
Freedom. No one gets to decide who I am, where I belong, or what I owe them. A name is a tool, and I will not let anyone turn mine into a chain.
Bonds
She carries a black invitation from the occult collector who uncovered her hidden lineage. She will risk almost anything to learn who wrote it and why.
Flaws
She assumes every kindness conceals a price, and when frightened or emotionally exposed, she lies before she has time to consider whether the truth would be safer.
Quirks
Background
Vesper Vale was not born under that name. Her first name was given to her by a mother who vanished before Vesper could understand whether the disappearance was abandonment or protection. Raised among traveling performers, confidence artists, and small-time gamblers, Vesper learned early that people rarely see what is in front of them. They see what they expect to see, especially when a beautiful smile, a sad story, or a melody guides their attention. By adolescence, she had mastered forged letters, borrowed titles, and carefully constructed personas, moving from town to town under names that were never meant to last. Her life changed after one performance went disastrously wrong. Vesper and her troupe attempted to swindle a wealthy occult collector, only to discover that the collector possessed a relic tied to infernal bloodlines. The artifact reacted to her presence, revealing that someone had been tracking her family for years. The troupe scattered, the collector disappeared, and Vesper escaped with a mysterious black invitation bearing a name she had never used. Since then, she has traveled as a bard, using music, wit, and theatrical deception to uncover the truth about her past. She distrusts easy kindness, keeps several aliases ready, and claims she is only helping others when there is something in it for her. Usually, that claim is almost true.
