Appearance
A broad-shouldered human man with weathered features, close-cropped dark hair, and a faded scar along one temple. He wears practical leather armor marked with old devotional stitching, and carries a massive two-handed warhammer that has clearly seen years of travel and battle. His noble bearing is still visible in his posture, though it has been tempered by dust, sweat, and hard-earned humility.
Mannerisms
He speaks with formal restraint, even in danger, and habitually places a hand over his holy symbol before making a promise. When thinking, he rests both hands on the head of his hammer as if weighing a judgment.
Personality
Calm, dutiful, and quietly protective. Ragnar is courteous without being fussy, and he treats common folk with the same respect he would give a titled lord. He prefers direct action to long debate, but he is not foolish, and he listens carefully before deciding who deserves mercy and who deserves a lesson.
Ideals
Duty. Rank should mean responsibility, and strength should be used to shield others rather than dominate them.
Bonds
He is devoted to the memory and teachings of his parents, and keeps their old oaths as if they were still standing beside him.
Flaws
He can be stubborn to the point of recklessness, especially when someone insults his honor or preys on the weak. He also struggles to admit when tradition is wrong, because he was raised to believe vows should be kept even when they become painful.
Quirks
Background
Ragnar was born into a noble household that valued service more than ceremony. His parents were both paladins, disciplined champions who believed that rank meant nothing unless it was spent protecting others. From the time he could walk, Ragnar was trained to stand straight, speak plainly, and meet hardship without complaint. He learned to read battle maps before he learned courtly poetry, and he learned the weight of vows before he understood the comfort of wealth. As a young man he left home to prove that his faith was more than inherited tradition. Years of travel hardened him into a veteran adventurer, and he came to favor a great two handed hammer that could shatter shields, doors, and the confidence of tyrants alike. Though he still carries himself like a minor lord, Ragnar dresses for the road rather than the throne, preferring worn leather armor and practical gear. He sees nobility as a duty, not a privilege, and believes the strong are meant to stand between the innocent and the cruel.
