Appearance
Tav is a lean, soft-spoken elf with ash-brown hair cut to his jaw and pale hazel eyes that seem to measure every living thing in the room. He wears weathered leather armor beneath a moss-green mantle, with a wooden shield marked by concentric growth rings. His hands are the most distinctive part of him. The fingertips are permanently darkened by soil, ink, and crushed leaves, while his nails are kept short and practical. Within a minute of meeting someone, most people notice him rubbing the smooth edge of a small river stone between his thumb and forefinger whenever he is thinking.
Mannerisms
Tav speaks in measured sentences and pauses before answering even simple questions. He checks the moisture of nearby soil with two fingers, rolls his river stone across his knuckles while thinking, and quietly names plants under his breath when entering unfamiliar ground.
Personality
Quietly attentive, patient, and intensely curious. Tav notices small changes in breathing, weather, posture, and plant growth before he notices social tension. He is kind in practical ways, preferring to mend a cloak or prepare medicine rather than offer grand reassurance. Around people he trusts, his dry observations and unexpectedly sharp humor emerge.
Ideals
Reverence. Every living thing has a place in the pattern, and wisdom means learning that place before trying to change it.
Bonds
The river shrine that raised me must never be abandoned, no matter how poor or forgotten it becomes.
Flaws
I become quietly judgmental when people dismiss careful observation as weakness, and I sometimes withhold help until others admit they were wrong.
Quirks
Background
Tav was raised among the reed villages bordering a wide, slow river where elven families tended floating gardens and kept shrines to the turning seasons. His first lessons in reverence came from an old temple gardener who taught that prayer was not only spoken, but also watered, pruned, mended, and patiently observed. Tav became an acolyte because he could remember every medicinal plant in the temple grounds and every small offering left at the shrine, though he was never especially gifted at public sermons. When a fever swept through the river settlements, Tav spent three months carrying herbs, copying remedies, and sitting with the sick. The experience left him convinced that the sacred and the natural world were not separate things. He entered the druidic path to understand the deeper patterns behind healing, decay, and renewal, while remaining affiliated with the temple that first gave him purpose. Now he travels as a quiet field-priest, gathering knowledge, protecting vulnerable communities, and searching for the source of a blight that leaves healthy plants growing with roots pointed toward the sky.
