- TraitElfDarkvision, can see in dim light within 60 feet as if it were bright light and in darkness as if it were dim light.
- TraitElfKeen Senses, proficiency in the Perception skill.
- TraitElfFey Ancestry, advantage on saving throws against being charmed, and magic cannot put him to sleep.
- TraitElfTrance, he does not need to sleep and can finish a long rest in 4 hours through deep meditation.

Appearance
Miran is a lean, weathered elf with dark brown hair usually tied low at the nape, a narrow face, and steady gray-green eyes. He wears a patched leather coat over travel-stained clothes, with a faded red scarf wound twice around his neck. The scarf is cleanly mended but worn thin at the left shoulder, where his hand often grips it when he enters an unfamiliar room. He keeps a brass token from a vanished border town on a cord beneath his shirt. Within a minute of meeting him, most people notice that his eyes go first to exits, windows, and the hands of everyone nearby, never to the person speaking.
Mannerisms
He checks the nearest exit before sitting, rubs the worn edge of his red scarf when thinking, and repeats a person's name once in conversation as if testing whether it is genuine. When using Awakened Mind, he briefly looks past the listener rather than at them.
Personality
Miran is dryly sociable, quick with a practical joke, and generous when someone is being cheated by a stronger party. He treats conversation like a card game, watching for tells while offering just enough of himself to keep others comfortable. He dislikes solemn promises, loves competent people, and becomes unusually quiet whenever someone mentions sealed gates, lost towns, or dreams that feel more real than waking life.
Ideals
Freedom. No power, nation, patron, or prophecy has the right to own a person. Every bargain should have an escape clause.
Bonds
He carries a brass token from the sealed border town where his first great deception went wrong. He will risk almost anything to keep its surviving inhabitants, wherever they may have scattered, from being found by the people hunting him.
Flaws
He lies reflexively, even when the truth would be safer. He cannot resist examining a forbidden door, sealed letter, or suspicious reflection, because part of him believes that whatever is hunting him must eventually be understood.
Quirks
Background
Miran grew up among elven caravans that moved between worlds through unstable crossings, trading maps, medicines, and small luxuries wherever reality happened to open. He learned early that a name was a tool, a face could be a disguise, and the safest truth was usually the one nobody thought to ask about. As a young adult, he became a skilled confidence artist, selling forged passage papers and counterfeit relics to travelers who wanted to cross borders that were political, planar, or both. His life changed when he helped a desperate traveler escape through a gate that should have been sealed. Something on the far side noticed him. The presence called itself Nhalzur, the Sleepless Listener, an intelligence that speaks through reflections, half-remembered dreams, and voices heard between one heartbeat and the next. Miran accepted its power to survive the crossing, then discovered that the bargain had made him visible to people from his old life. Since then, he has moved from city to city and world to world, changing names whenever the brass token beneath his shirt grows warm. He claims he is searching for a way to sever the pact. Privately, he fears that he is running not from his past, but from the moment he chose it.
