Appearance
A tall, athletic half-elf woman with weather-browned skin, storm-gray eyes, and thick dark brown hair braided with small feathers and polished bone beads. Her pointed ears are partially hidden beneath her hair, and a pale scar crosses her left eyebrow. She wears practical scale mail beneath a green-gray cloak, carries a longbow across her back, and keeps two shortswords at her hips. Her expression is alert and guarded, but quick to soften when she encounters someone in need.
Mannerisms
Lyra studies exits, windows, and nearby cover whenever she enters a room. She speaks quietly and directly, often pausing to listen to distant sounds before answering. When thinking, she rolls a carved wooden trail marker between her fingers.
Personality
Lyra is observant, independent, and protective of anyone who seems out of place or outmatched. She prefers practical action to grand speeches and feels most at ease under an open sky. Although she presents herself as self-sufficient, she secretly longs for a traveling company that feels like family. She has a dry sense of humor and an unexpectedly gentle patience with animals, children, and frightened strangers.
Ideals
Freedom. No person should be trapped by borders, bloodlines, laws, or fear. The wild belongs to everyone who respects it, and those who prey upon the helpless deserve to be driven from it.
Bonds
The children she rescued from the burning settlement are scattered across the frontier, and she quietly watches for news of them. She also carries her mother's carved trail marker and will risk herself to recover it if it is ever lost.
Flaws
She is slow to trust authority and has little patience for laws that protect property more readily than people. When confronted with orcs or anyone she believes is connected to them, her judgment can collapse into anger. She also tends to disappear rather than explain herself when emotional wounds are exposed.

Background
Lyra Thornmere was born beneath the boughs of an ancient forest to an elven mother who served as a trailkeeper and a human father who had once been a caravan guard. From both of them she inherited a restless spirit. Her mother taught her to read the language of birds, broken branches, and disturbed moss, while her father taught her that a weapon was most valuable when it kept danger away from those who could not fight for themselves. Lyra grew up moving between woodland camps, remote villages, and lonely trade roads, never staying long enough for any place to become entirely hers. When Lyra was sixteen, an orc warband burned an isolated border settlement where her family had been sheltering travelers. She survived by leading a handful of children through a hidden ravine and into the forest. Her parents did not. Since then, she has hunted raiders, slavers, and predatory beasts across the frontier, using the wilderness as both shield and weapon. She now travels with little more than her bow, blades, and battered field journal, seeking signs that the warband responsible has begun moving south again. Lyra claims she is following a trail, but privately she hopes to find a cause worth defending before grief turns her into nothing but a hunter.
