Appearance
Ragnar is a lean, broad-shouldered young man with a hunter's posture and a soldier's balance. Sun-browned skin, steel-gray eyes, and close-cut light hair give him a sharp, practical look, while old practice scars cross his knuckles and forearms. He favors worn leather armor fitted for travel, a longbow kept immaculate despite the miles, and a longsword with a polished hilt inherited from his father. His movements are controlled and economical, but there is a quiet coiled energy in him, as if every step is already measured for the next shot or strike.
Mannerisms
He speaks in a calm, measured tone and rarely wastes words. When thinking, he unconsciously checks angles, exits, and wind direction. He oils his bowstring before sleep, sharpens his sword in the morning, and bows his head briefly before a shot, as if thanking the target for standing still.
Personality
Disciplined, observant, and quietly proud, Ragnar carries himself like a young officer who learned humility from the wilderness. He is courteous to allies, unfailingly serious in battle, and surprisingly gentle with children, horses, and injured animals. Though he has a competitive streak, he values skill over boasting and prefers to prove himself with results rather than speeches.
Ideals
Duty. A capable blade should protect the innocent, not merely profit from their fear. If Ragnar takes up the work of a mercenary, it is to defend trade roads, villages, and the weak who cannot hire an army of their own.
Bonds
At sixteen, Ragnar left home for the Elvish Kingdom of Sylvaris, where he sought the discipline and finesse that could turn his natural accuracy into true mastery. The elves recognized something rare in him, a human archer whose eye could rival their own, and they trained him as a future arcane archer, even if he had not yet awakened the magic to match the title. Years among them sharpened his senses, deepened his respect for precision, and taught him that strength without elegance is just noise. Now twenty, he has returned to Oakhaven to begin his life as a mercenary, but every path he walks still leads back to the village that made him, and to the family that believes he can become more than either homeland alone expected.
Flaws
He can be stubbornly rigid about doing things the right way, even when a quicker or messier solution would save lives. Ragnar is also slow to ask for help, because he hates looking unprepared or unworthy in front of veterans who remind him how much he still has to learn.

Background
Ragnar Lothbrok was born in a quiet village in the Kingdom of Oakwood, the son of two retired mercenaries who had survived long enough to trade steel for a steadier life. His mother was the one who first taught him patience, breath control, and the long arc of the bow. His father taught him how to stand his ground with a sword, how to read a battlefield, and how to tell when a fight could be won without ever drawing blood. By the time Ragnar was old enough to lift his father's old longsword, he had already begun outperforming older hunters with a bow. The village called it talent. His mother called it discipline. His father called it a dangerous gift.
