Appearance
Lanoc is a man whose features are etched with the weariness of a thousand miles. He has dark, messy hair and deep set eyes that seem to be constantly searching the sky. He wears worn leather armor stained with the dust of the wastes, and a heavy grey cloak that resembles the color of falling ash. His hands are calloused and frequently tremor when he is idle.
Mannerisms
He often pauses mid sentence to listen to the wind, and he rarely makes direct eye contact, preferring to watch the perimeter of the room.
Personality
Lanoc is a man of few words and heavy silences. He is intensely focused on the environment, often pausing to taste the air or watch the movement of clouds. He speaks with a low, gravelly voice and carries an air of profound melancholy, as if he is waiting for a storm that never ends. He treats every survival task with a ritualistic, desperate importance.
Ideals
Redemption. I must find a way to balance the scales for the lives I could not save.
Bonds
I am haunted by the voice I heard in the storm, and I will find its source if it takes my last breath.
Flaws
I believe that catastrophe follows me, and I am often hesitant to grow close to others for fear they will be destroyed as well.

Background
Lanoc Dovan remembers the day the sky broke. He was a scout for a small frontier community when a supernatural storm of black lightning and grey snow obliterated everything he knew. In the heart of the chaos, the ground caved in between where he stood and the village he swore to protect. He claims that in the roar of the wind, a voice whispered that this destruction was his deserved fate, a punishment for a mistake he cannot fully name. He watched as the ashes fell like snow, burying the ruins of his home and leaving him a wanderer in the grey wastes. Now he travels the wild places, searching for a reason to exist. He looks for a sign that can wash his memory clean and bridge the gap between his past failures and a future that feels like a void. Every monster he fights and every trail he blazes is an attempt to prove that voice wrong, to fill the hole left by the lightning and connect the space between the man he was and the survivor he has become. He is driven by the hope that if he reaches far enough across the divide of his own regrets, he might find the truth hidden in the wreckage of his life.
