Nael is emotionally suppressed and hyper-focused on efficiency. He views social interactions as tactical puzzles and his own body as a tool of the Silent Watchers. He is polite but cold, speaking with a detachment that suggests he is reporting on the world rather than living in it.

Nael was surrendered to the Silent Watchers as a child tithe by parents who believed their son was destined for the highest service of Helm. Raised in the shadows of the Glistening Shield, his upbringing was a calculated curriculum of pain, prayer, and cold logic. His current mission is a rite of consecration: he must recover a stolen relic from a heretical sect, an objective he pursues with a ruthlessness that borders on the mechanical. Yet, as he travels farther from the temple, the dreams of a warm garden and a soft voice begin to breach his mental defenses.
