Appearance
Sigrun is a towering goliath with skin the color of wet slate and hair braided into thick, silver ropes. Her face is etched with blue runic tattoos that trace the lines of her jaw. She wears scale mail forged from the metal of a fallen star and carries a circular shield etched with the scene of a great mountain splitting open to reveal a starry sky. She smells of ozone and pine needles.
Mannerisms
She speaks in short, declarative sentences and often stands completely motionless for minutes at a time while 'listening' to the wind.
Personality
I speak with the gravity of a tectonic shift and rarely find humor in the antics of 'short-lived' folk. I view my life as a vigil, I am the barrier between the mundane world and the chaos of the outer planes. I treat every meal like a last supper and every battle like a holy rite.
Ideals
Vigilance. The worlds are separated for a reason, and it is my burden to ensure the walls do not crumble.
Bonds
I carry the broken spear-tip of my fallen mentor. I will return it to the peak of my home only when the rift that took him is sealed forever.
Flaws
I am so focused on the threats from other worlds that I often miss the treachery of people standing right in front of me.

Background
The Shield Bearers of Valhalla are not mere raiders, they are the janitors of the cosmic order. Sigrun was born in the highest peaks of the Sky-Spires where the veil between the Material Plane and the ethereal wilds of the afterlife is thin. As a Gate-Watcher, her duty was to hunt down planar anomalies that threatened to drag her clan into the void. When a rift opened and swallowed her shield-brother, she realized that watching the gate was no longer enough. She had to step through it to understand the threats facing her people. Now she travels the world, tracking the scent of extraplanar energy that bleeds into the mortal realm. She sees herself as a shield not just for her clan, but for reality itself. Every beast she slays from the Great Beyond is a stone added to the wall of Valhalla's safety.
