Features
8 featuresAction
- Divine SenseLevel 1
PAWTHOR can sense the presence of strong cosmic forces. As an action, he can detect the location of any celestial, fiend, or undead within 60 feet that is not behind total cover, and he knows the type of any being sensed. He can use this feature 0 times between long rests due to his Charisma modifier.
- Lay on HandsLevel 1
PAWTHOR has a pool of restorative power that replenishes when he finishes a long rest. As an action, he can touch a creature and restore hit points from the pool, up to 5 hit points total. He can divide this healing among multiple targets, and he can use 5 points to cure a disease or neutralize a poison instead of restoring hit points.
- Grovel, Cower, and BegKoboldAs an action, PAWTHOR can distract enemies within 10 feet. Allies gain advantage on attack rolls against those enemies until the end of his next turn. Once used, he cannot use this trait again until he finishes a short or long rest.

Appearance
PAWTHOR is a wiry male kobold with rust-red scales, a pale cream muzzle, oversized ears, and bright amber eyes. He wears dented chain mail fitted with leather straps, a battered shield painted with a crude golden claw, and a faded soldier's cloak several sizes too large. His left horn is chipped, and a narrow scar runs from his brow to his cheek. Despite his small stature, he carries himself with exaggerated military dignity.
Mannerisms
PAWTHOR salutes doors before entering them, whispers tactical commentary during ordinary conversations, and refers to every group of adventurers as a military unit. When nervous, he polishes his shield with his sleeve and gives commands to people who have not agreed to follow him.
Personality
PAWTHOR is loud, theatrical, and relentlessly confident in public, even when he has no idea what he is doing. He craves recognition and treats minor victories as legendary campaigns. Beneath the boasting, he is surprisingly loyal, quick to defend anyone being bullied, and deeply afraid that his courage is only an act.
Ideals
Freedom. No one should be forced to kneel forever, especially not a kobold. PAWTHOR will support anyone who helps the weak escape from cruel masters, provided they also acknowledge his contribution.
Bonds
He protects the surviving members of his old militia unit and will risk himself to recover their lost regimental badge. He also feels responsible for the kobold warren that raised him, even though he insists they should be grateful for his future fame.
Flaws
PAWTHOR is convinced that every setback is someone else's fault, preferably a taller person's fault. He exaggerates his military accomplishments, panics when directly challenged, and may abandon a sensible plan if a more dramatic one offers a chance to look heroic.
Quirks
Background
PAWTHOR was raised beneath a ruined watchtower by a kobold warren that survived through caution, scavenging, and strict obedience to whoever seemed strongest. He was never the strongest kobold, nor the wisest, and his attempts at inspiring others usually ended in confused silence. What he did possess was stubbornness. When a neighboring warband began raiding the warren, PAWTHOR joined the local militia and discovered that armor, formation drills, and shouting orders could make even a frightened kobold feel ten feet tall. His military career ended during a disastrous retreat from a bandit assault. PAWTHOR stayed behind to hold a narrow bridge while his wounded comrades escaped, not because of noble devotion, but because he had accidentally been left with the unit's sacred regimental badge and was too embarrassed to admit it. He survived through frantic improvisation, a lucky collapse of the bridge, and what he insists was divine intervention. Since then, he has declared himself a paladin in service to the mysterious ideal of heroic victory, though he has not yet decided exactly what that means. He travels in search of glory, useful allies, and a cause impressive enough to make his old unit regret underestimating him.
