Appearance
KurbStomp is a broad-shouldered human with a perpetual smirk, weathered tan skin, and a crooked nose that looks like it has been broken more than once. He keeps his dark hair chopped short on the sides and messier on top, usually hidden beneath a soot-colored hood. His leather armor is practical and worn, his boots scuffed from rooftop runs and alley chases, and he carries himself like a man who expects every doorway to be a problem and every problem to be a dare.
Mannerisms
KurbStomp speaks in a low, quick cadence and rarely wastes a word. He taps his thumb against each fingertip when thinking, as if counting exits, and he always glances at windows and doorways before settling into a room. When amused, he lets out a short wheeze of a laugh and looks offended that something could have been so predictable.
Personality
He is sly, observant, and hard to rattle, with a dry sense of humor that surfaces at the worst possible moments. He likes people who keep their promises and hates bullies, cheats who prey on the weak, and anyone who mistakes fear for respect. Beneath the swagger, he is more careful than he pretends, and he notices every detail because details are what keep him alive.
Ideals
Freedom. No crown, guild, or magistrate should decide how a person survives. Everyone deserves a chance to slip the leash, even if they have to pick it themselves.
Bonds
He still sends part of every earnings haul to the old district where he grew up, especially to the soup line that fed him as a child. He owes one life-debt to a fence who once hid him from the watch, and he will not let that debt be collected by anyone else.
Flaws
He cannot resist a locked door, a sealed chest, or a challenge delivered with enough smugness. If someone tells him an impossible thing cannot be done, he will often try it before thinking through the consequences. He also struggles to trust authority, even when it is trying to help him, and that suspicion can make him miss genuine allies.
Quirks
Background
KurbStomp was born in a crowded riverside quarter where honest labor was always scarcer than hunger. As a human, he grew fast, learned faster, and discovered early that a quick hand and quicker feet could put food in his belly when luck would not. He started by running small errands for smugglers and fence-runners, then learned to pick pockets, crack locks, and vanish before the bruises landed. The city taught him that rules were mostly for people with a lock on their pantry, and he took to that lesson with enthusiasm. His nickname came from a botched warehouse theft, when a guard shouted that the thief sounded like an ox stomping through crates. The name stuck after he escaped by kicking open a door and dropping a beam onto his pursuers. Since then, KurbStomp has lived by nerve, instinct, and a talent for making bad ideas look just plausible enough to try. He is not cruel, but he is loyal only to the people who prove they deserve it, and he has a habit of helping the desperate while robbing the greedy. Now he has struck out on his own, chasing bigger scores, stranger rumors, and the kind of freedom that cannot be measured in gold.
